There is the ECU wiring diagram, for tach signal we used the output for one of the coils. Everything else is stright hook up I believe. Do you have Windows Live Messenger or BlackBerry Messenger? Easier.... haha

Everything you need for wiring should be in those diagrams though . Just match it with the SAFC diagrams.

We just soldered directly to the wires near the ECU. You'll need to take off all the wire loom etc.

Gauge is a noname one from eBay, size is 2 5/8" (67mm). Just wired into the hazzard lights switch I believe (can't remember as it was awhile ago). Works pretty well. Thanks.

HP, I really don't know, need to put the injectors in and then dyno it for sure.

Thanks to everyone else as well .

I don't think our cars will ever be done. There will always be parts coming out, and custom parts from members, and so on.

Plus factor in bolts, nuts, extra clamps if you break them, extra piping if you cut wrong. Also need to make your own down pipe, etc.

That's a basic parts list of what you need to get started though...

Update: WRX STI Injectors are now installed tonight (thanks Mike!). Have to pull around 45% across the board to run nicely. Def needs more tuning but it drivable and does not lean out up top anymore.

Also, the o-rings from the stock injectors work ALONG with extra o-rings that you will need to get on your own. The WRX STI injectors are a bit different in size and this needs to be accounted for with proper o-rings. If you do NOT use proper o-rings you WILL get fuel leaks, fire and kaboom coupe. The stock injector clips/connectors fit perfectly. There is no need to solder/hack/change the plugs. The plug right in.

Oil leak is FIXED. Just monitoring everything now for the next little while until I can get access to a dyno.

Woohooo!

1. Nope, since each person's build would be different, there is no way a down pipe will fit for everyone, even if it did it wouldn't fit after market exhaust systems. I still have a stock exhaust system on my car right now that I need to upgrade.

2. 45% Fuel.

3. Grand total: I don't want to think about it, but roughly 1700-2000. That doesn't include labor since that was pretty much free from my friends. Also doesn't include getting the wrong parts (AEM FIC, etc). If you know nothing about going turbo, budget for more. Also have a a backup fund ready for a new motor if something goes bad, nothing is guaranteed.

Thats not bad at all. especially considering when Stillen had their 2.5 turbo interest thread going they estimated the kit costing 5-6k IIRC and that was without an intercooler.

and as far as the back up engine plan, thats what you're here for...lol your the Guinea pig for this who project and for that I commend you for having the biggest set as far as 2.5er's go...lol

***holes... I now see why everyone was so interested :P.

Man it's nice hanging with a mustang on the hwy and them looking over with a look on their face of "what the f*** 2.5L 4 cyc is beside me at 150km/hr" lol.

Okay so I have a few questions.

Did you get the injectors in and tune it yet?

What other mods do you have other than the turbo?

This is probably a stupid one but how is your gas mileage for normal driving? Has it changed significantly either way? Are you using premium now or still regular?

And since you have a lot more power now have your idle rpms changed any? What about at 60mph /100kph?

- Injectors are in, basic street tune.

- No other engine mods, stock motor, stock exhaust.

- Premium 91 Octane Gas, it's gone down a little for milage, it's fine when I'm driving normally but if I get my foot in it, it sucks gas like a mofo... and thats usually how I drive. I'm in boost a lot. I actually find I save gas on the highway though.

- Idle is the same as stock, however, since it's not tuned right, sometimes it will idle at 700rpm and other times at 1000rpm depending on what/how I was driving before I came to a stop. Moving the MAF intot he IC piping (this week), should correct most of the stalling/idling issues. If it doesn't, i'll just run a diverter valve instead of a BOV.

- RPMS at 60/100 are the same, they won't change. The bigest thing I notice is how easy it is to get it up to 170km/hr in 6th. It just climbs up there lol.
