For some reason, this particular cam cap out of my KA24DE was scored down the middle like so:The groove is about 0.5mm or so deep at the deepest point, at the center, and seem to flatten out near the edges as you can see. The corresponding journal does not have the scoring. But the cam is slightly scored at that point (it is shallower, and doesn't go all the way around).It is the I2 cam cap.None of the other caps have this sort of damage, nor do the journals.For those of you who've seen these types of things before, do you think it'll hold up in a stock engine?
