I've found ace hardware to be a great place. They might not have an entire lumber selection of crap like that but the service is friendly and they have a massive bolt selection.Mr1der wrote:mom and pop hardware stores > all.
I'll pay a little more to know a place isn't run by lawyers and idiots.
one I go to occasionally also sells guns. It's where I got my XD45 for a very nice price
The Ace near me tends to hire mostly high school students. Fortunately it's laid out well enough that you don't need to ask them for any help.Jesda wrote:Ace is by far the best chain hardware store.
You just like HD because they let you hang out outside at 6am waiting for work.numbnuts240 wrote:i prefer hd over lowes. i only speak to employees when i pay for my stuff. i don't even ask for help finding stuff, they're all idiots. lowes, however, tends to hire hot chicks.
I have a wonderful old fashioned family owned hardware store one block from my home. Been buying stuff from them for years. I also dislike those big box joints like Lowes or HD.PoorManQ45 wrote:You just like HD because they let you hang out outside at 6am waiting for work.numbnuts240 wrote:i prefer hd over lowes. i only speak to employees when i pay for my stuff. i don't even ask for help finding stuff, they're all idiots. lowes, however, tends to hire hot chicks.
