Schedule Maintenance frequency

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I finally had some time to skim through the 'Service and Maintenance Guide'. Looks like there are 2 options: Schedule 1 or Schedule 2. Schedule 2 seems to me is for more 'normal' / 'not so harsh' drivers which seems to fit our usage. If we follow this schedule, engine oil is changed every 7500 miles (seems ok w/ me), but I don't see any stated requirement to change the Automatic transmission fluids / oil. Say for the 30k / 24 months Premium Maintenance (first major one it seems) require to replace automatic transmission fluid w/ a footnote that says EXCEPT models M35 / EX35. Looking further down the road, even through 90k miles / 72 months, there's NO NEED / requirement to change automatic transmission fluid. Most of the time is 'inspection' only. So that means you only need to change when the fluid is dirty? It makes sense but seems odd a little bit.

If I was going to keep a car beyond 60K or warranty period, I would consider a drain and fill of the auto at 60K. I would also look at replacing the differential juice. I was surprised to not see any mention of brake fluid replacement in the Guide. You should look at replacing brake fluid every 3 years (some car MFGs say 2 years).

I follow the more earth friendly schedule 2.
