Has any one used Schaeffer oil in a Rogue . I know the service interval is 5,000 miles but they say the oil will get longer intervals . Also is there a improvement in MPG's .

As long as you use SAE/APS compliant oil with the correct viscosity within the proper oil change intervals, it shouldn't really matter what brand of oil you use. Driving habits, traffic conditions, tire pressure, weather... almost anything else would affect your fuel economy significantly greater than changing oil brands.

Actually, I see Schaeffer numerous times on Bitog.

In name only.

I never really knew anything about their oil.

So you peaked my interest and I googled it.

So they are a U.S company since 1839.

So they’re not a flash in a pan company. They been around over 175 years.

Seems legit.

While Exxon Mobil was established around 1870.

And if you put Amsoil in the mix, they were founded in 1972.

I think Schaeffer oil deserves some respect even though I have zero knowledge of it.

It’s probably a lack of marketing or hard to find like amsoil that we never really heard of about it.

I think people who utilize normal OCI should have no problem with this oil or any oil for that matter.

At least it’s not Dollar Tree motor oil.

But even using DT oil, your engine should last if oil is changed regularly.

In general, I think car manufacturers don’t value their customers by giving us cvt’s that don’t last long.

When back in the day, cars easily lasted 250,000-300,000 miles.

Oil companies are definitely no worse than the car companies. :slap:

I wonder if the reason nobodies , like me ever heard of them is cause the oil they sell today is maybe
no better than the oil they started out in 1839 ?? :rotflmao

Since you brought this up.

Ironically, I came across this video soon after because Youtube suggested it to me since I watch this individual on occasion.

Very interesting find Casper , tons of stuff on youtube . Mobil 1 , or any oil for that matter talking
very long change intervals IS a joke to me , mostly due to my localle.
His "kitch'n tests" with the fridge and coffee pots - interesting , amusing , I don't know for sure how actually representave or applicable to late engines as far as the "wear test" , which all the tests were very close.
That test or variations thereof have been demonstrated and maybe "Shilled" for Eons :rotflmao

Car bearings ride on the film of lubrication ( SAE designed ) and I'm not convinced that this very close comparison and outcome of a HARD & SHARP object under severe force to BREAK THROUGH and PIERCE the designated oil film is anything to worry about in my car , unless like CUTTING oil shredding the test peice to ribbons is what's demonstrated of the oil under examination.

I'll joke that R -Purple is just Mob1 with purple dye - resold for a few dollars more

I'm gonna joke here that Schaeffer's is 'tantamount' to Mobil1 with a tablespoon of Myst. Oil, :lolling:
selling for SEVERAL dollars more , although I myself usually don't take the cheap way out on the vehicles.
Casper you always seem to do your "homework" , and I appreciate this interesting "Tuber" to be watched in future . Will always respect your input.

As far as looking past Mob1 , I'm looking at and learning more about the Pennzoil Ultra Full Syn.
Says synthesized from Nat. Gas ?? Funny everyone I knew and me considered the Dino Pennzoil of the 70's & 80's to be ( Consistency of ) WATER COMING OUT of the can :tisk: (had Cahd-bord cans back then).
