Hines Group Motorsports is looking for some crew/sponsorship help for the 2008 racing season. We are an experienced SCCA T-2 race team located out of Arlington, Virginia, have done T-2 for 8 years with one championship, two seconds and a third. Putting the car back together starts this next saturday, 12 Janaury. We had a lot of front end damage fromthe runoffs crash and now have the parts to put it back together. Our car has everything done that we can legally do for the T-2 class and set the fastest qualifying and race lap for a non-turbo car at the runoffs. We also have a few sponsors who help out with parts, tires, oil, wheels, and shocks. We do all the work ourselves except for body work. We only run National races but may run one or two NASA races this year. Our 2008 schedule is:

Virginia International Raceway 11-13 AprilSummit Point 17-18 MayNelson Ledges Double 24-25 MayBeaver Run 14-15 JuneRoebling Road Double 4-6 JulyWatkins Glen 12-13 JulyLime Rock 1-2 AugustPocono Double 15-17 August

Heartland Park Topeka Runoffs 6-12 October

If you live near Arlington, Virginia and have some 350Z knowledge and would like to crew this year give Bob Hines a call at 703-471-4774. We can teach you the race side of things if you can furnish some of the mechanical side.

Here are some shots of Rob in action last year in case you missed them.

Hi Mark -

Since Nissan has pulled out, I'd like to discuss some options for assisting the team and possibly acquiring the "real estate" Nissan has left behind (windshield banner).

I've got a few ideas I'd like to throw out for your consideration...

I could possibly lend a hand at Lime Rock in August. I have lots of fabrication skills under my belt. And I am pretty dependable. Email me at [email protected]

The 2009 season is just a few short months away and the rules makers have finally seen the light that the 350Z hasn't been competitive with the turbo cars. The last two years sure proved that. Some adjustments are on the horizon that will be helpful to our car. Gregg would you send me your phone number to my email [email protected] so we can pursue your ideas regarding sponsorship for 2009? I look forward to talking with you. Bob Hines

Yeah I watched the T2 runoff race and was wondering how it got so bad...although you still had impressive performances in both T2 and T3.

Good luck in 2009, planning on coming back to Glen Nats again?

SCCA didnt equalize the non turbo cars with the turbos but we were the fastest non turbo in qualifying and the race. We started 7th on the grid and ended up in 5th place after they threw out the winner. The 2009 rules may help a lot, at least we hope so as we want to stay with the 350Z. In fact we are considering buying a 2007 car so we can get it down to the minimum weight now that they let us take out all of the interior except for the dashboard. Look for a lot of stuff for sale if we get the new car. In T3 we qualified our loaner Honda S2000 on the pole and were planing on saving our tires while the front wheels guys burned theirs off but things went bad about 1/3 rd of the way in the race when the transmission starting acting up and we ended up in 4th place after they threw out an illegal motor. This isnt a car we own so we unfortunately didnt have an opportunity to do the maintenance on it and the owner ran the car for 3 races before the runoffs and put hard wear on the synchros. I dont think we will be using the Honda for the 2009 season. Next year its going to be Road America for the Runoffs and we are looking for more horsepower from the 2007 car.
