SCCA ITS s13, anyone compete? got some questions

i have a few questions about how you may have interpreted the rules and where you were able to shave off some weight. i know our weight class is freaking heavy, so obtaining the weight spec is easy, but i'd like to reduce it to the minimum possible and be able to add ballast instead.

for instance, the front bumper is probably 40 lbs, and half of it is contributed to the 7 metal brackets. how'd you manage to mount it afterwards? have you seen anyone use external bumper clips?
