OK so I'm building my 1990 240sx for the ITA class in the SCCA... I was wondering if anyone else here does this and if they know what are the weak points of the car i should look out for. Thanks

The tension rod bushings up front always die with age(connected to the front LCAs). Motor mounts also seem to wear(not as bad as Hondas though). Drivetrain and engine seem pretty bulletproof.

Other than that, I don't have any direct experience. I just go to DE's with my SR swapped S13 and it performed pretty well. The biggest problems were the open diff and too much rear brake bias from my 300ZX brakes on the stock master cylinder, not that you can worry about the second one in ITA.

I'd think the SCCA forums would probably give you a better response though, as not many people here race, much less know what ITA is.

I have done engines for a couple of ITA 240's. The 240 is a really decent ITA car and has won the ARRC race several times. The key to having a reliable piece is a properly built engine, dont over heat and don't over rev it and it will last. You can e-mail me for more information if you like.Joe
