Does anyone know how much it costs to go to a SCCA driving school and get a liscense? I know it's on the web sites but my computer sucks and won't open pdf files.

There is no one single SCCA school, there are many good ones out there. Here's a link you might find helpful. http://www.raceschools.com/

Regardless of which school you attend, it's going to cost you a few thousand bucks, and many hours of seat time to get the license. Then more seat time to get competitive.

I went thru Skip Barber to get mine several years ago. (www.skipbarber.com) It was expensive but very comprehensive. The instructors were excellent. What I liked about Barber was that you use their cars, so there's no worrying about damaging your own car going beyond the limit while learning. I thought it was well worth the cost.

Barber is good but I recommend Panoz racing school at road atlanta or sebring. The 3 day course is approx. 2800.00 plus hotel. Most 3 day schools will issue you a SCCA regional license for a 65.00 fee which you send in after completing the course. If you really want to polish your skills, most schools offer a 1 or 2 day lapping school AFTER completing the 3 day. This runs about 800.00 a day and is well worth it. Bondurant is another good school in Arizona with new Corvettes. All of these schools use their cars and you can purchase an optional insurance policy from them just in case you damage their car. There are also numerous open wheel schools too.
