I just got the new SCC in the mail (september issue). Its got the rb25 install into a S14. The information looks correct and they go over all of the problems many of u guys have encountered ie: driveshaft modification, hood clearance, using the r33 crossmember, downpipe and steering clearance. The article is a good 10 pages long and provides some good info. IMO i think they did a good job. pick it up guys and check it out.

I don't like it for the fact that everyone and thier grandma will want one now like when they did the sr swap.

Mark my words, it'll only be a matter of time before we see "skyline power" stickers on 240's. :|

Other than that, it's great. It's the exact engine I want in the exact chasis I want ( and have). I just wish they only made one copy... and sent it to me.

it will never get as big as you think it willthey are ALREADY having problems getting clips for people.

there are not enough skylines and 240's in the world to make that a common swap.

but yes, SCC is still gay

I know, but there is enough 240's for a couple hundred people to change thier minds and when those couple hundred try to buy something that is already rare... it becomes a sellers market and a 4k-5k clip is not that far off. Alhough personally if it gets over 4k, I'll definatly go rb20. with them at ~$1500, the extra ~3k to go towards upgrades would make it a no brainer. Plus it revs higher, hehe...

P.S. Actually I love SCC personally. I think the problem with them infact is it's not "gay". Because it's the only mainstream non- "body-kit and decal monthy" rag, people take whatever is in there as gospel as they don't have any other legitamate source to compare it against (besides forums like these :pface )

And it's worse when you live in a smaller town like me too. I am not lying when I say I've seen 3 cars around town that I know for a fact wern't flat black before the s13 project car and now they are. and one of then is a saturn for crying out loud. I just don't want to see these small town hicks figure out a way to rice up this swap too....

I don't think it's going to be big either.

Just TRY to find RB clips these days.. it's only going to get harder.

Plus, emissions restrictions are going to hold back alot of people who want to attempt such a swap.

I really don't think it's going to ge popular because of the article. It might drive up prices on things a little though...

I havent seen it but i think it sux.

the 240s are just gonna get more attention from newbs and honda guys. I have nothing against that, its just that some peeps read some thing and want to follow the bandwagon. Most of them dont contribute nothing to the 240 community other than ricing and creating demand thus incrasing prices. hopefully it wont get out of hand.

I wish some of you guys wouldn't be so uninviting to Honda enthusiasts (or anyone really). I think it would be awesome to see more Nissan enthusiasts.. because of the support each one brings. No matter what though, Nissan will never be as popular as the honda scene. There just isn't enough to go around.

I came straight from Honda to Nissan. I plan on contributing to this community and helping it grow. We are all followers in one way or another. Give it up.. there's nothing you can do about it.

and it's hard as HE(( to get 25 clips now so how are they gonna get them?

That's my point. increased scarcity=Sellers market=higher prices for those of us that have wanted it for a while but haven't saved enough yet...

Is that really everyone elses problem??? It is good information to pass along. Maybe it will cut down on the questions on this boards. Besides peopel can get the info without some ******* telling them to search. I consider myself a car enthusiast first. I try not get caught up in the Nissan is better then Honda superiority complex gayness that most Nissan people have. I want more people to get on the Nissan camp. Maybe we can get more manufacturers besides stealing oh I mean stillen to make stuff for our car. Some of the **** may be rice for Honda's, but they have a broader scope of products available. You can go the budget route or you can go all out. With Nissan's it is mostly all or nothing.

Sigh.....

Obviously you misread my posts, or just read my last one. I said I loved it and love the Magazine for doing it, I'm just saying there will be negative side effects which is undeniably true. you can say that you're an enthusiast first and blah, blah, blah (which implicates that I'm not which I don't appreciate BTW) I was just bringing up that those are trying to get our hands on rb25det's are gonna have a harder time doing so. I never said anything about Honda vs. Nissan... My other car is a civic for crying out loud. and as far as budget, never said anything about that either, I'm not taking short cuts... again I spoke only to how it's possible that the clips could become disproportionately expensive to their worth IMO and how I would go RB20 if that turned out to be the case. You know what I mean right... don't you have a RB20? And as far as getting more manufactures support, I don't see why you'd think I'd be against this, although seeing as how there is roughly 10 times more civics than 240s, I really don't blame them for supporting Honda.

Additionally, I think it’s ironic that you would get on my case for talking about the potential downside of the piece and in the same post attack those that attack others in this board. And what’s worse, you didn’t even attack my logic, your post is mostly an indirect ad hominem attack - something I thought that would be beneath a self-proclaimed Nissan enthusiast and a proponent of keeping message boards as community-like as possible. But in the 7 months or so I’ve been lurking, this doesn’t seem to be something you do often do, and seem to be quite helpful as a rule so I’ll assume that you misunderstood what I wrote and began “defending an attack on the community”... if that’s not the case, let me know where I’m wrong, if it is... I forgive you. :pface

Actually most of my last post wasnt directed at you. I was just venting. And in no way was I saying you werent an enthusiasts. I just noticed when I first got into cars I was all into Honda's. I didnt really frequent boards though. Then I got an Altima and went to altima boards and I was amazed at the anti Honda self righteous, superior feeling people. Then I sold my Altima due to the fact that JWT couldnt crack my ECU and the fact that my car was a automatic. I was looking for a Z32 and stumbled upon the 240sx. Anyway this is babble. I wasnt attacking you. I just think it is gay how someone cant answer a question without saying search. The time it took them to post that, they could have answered the question. Just a personal pet peeve. Hopefully Nissan owners and nissan converts can pick up the magazine if they are interested in a semi how to (I havent read it yet). The prices will probably go up on the RB's. I dont know. That is why I decided to jmp the gun and get it now so I wouldnt get raped later

Yeah, I'll be getting mine ASAP too. Well.... actually december because that's when I'll be moving back home and won't have to worry about bills anymore but still that's as soon as I can without taking the risk of not paying all my bills.... until then, I'll be on a budget and save what little I can.

P.S. How's the RB20 treating you? any upgrades planned yet?
