Anybody got/picked up the new Sport Compact Car Magazine---just got mine yesterday. 3 articles on the 350Z. The dyno'd it and tuned it. It dyno'd with 249HP to the Rear wheels---I didn't know it has a carbon fiber drive shaft that is 40% lighter than the older steel one.

After they tuned it they found that the suspension could be stiffened but the HP gains are minimal. They lost HP with a rigged porshe exhaust system from JIC. The stock skid pad produced .88g, after wheels/tires, coilovers/stuts they pulled a .98g.

They said the fenders were insane--they thought a 17x8 235/40(front) and a 17x9 255/40 were gonna be great. They found that the front can hold the 255s and the rear would be better with 275 or even 285s.

They basically said the 350Z is just about prefect in the engine department as it is stock. And a few gains can be made but it will take a lot of trail and error from aftermarket parts.

Some specs:Weight--3100lbs +HP--287 ----249rwhptorque --270+

0-60 ---5.8secs1/4 mile ---- 14.0@102mph(not possitive on mph though)

ANYWAY--Enjoy the articleIt definately made my decision that I'm buy the 350Z next if I can't afford the Skyline that I have in mind right now.

they got it to pull .98g's. Wow! What kind and size wheel and tire were they using to achieve that?

was it pulling that at higher speeds? with those race car setups the downforce to keep that car planted is insane.

That was with Toyo Proxes RA-1. 235/40/ZR17 in the front and 255/40/ZR17 in the rear. Note that the .98 G's was also with Ground Control coilovers. 600 lb/in springs in the front, and 650 lb/in springs in the rear. .98 G's was obtained in a 200 ft skidpad. It also did the 700ft slalom at 71.2mph (70.2 mph stock tires and suspension).

Yeah, it's yellow and blue. It says the car was built to compete in Class 4 of the Japanese Super Taikyu Endurance Series. You sure they are based in BC? Seems far to travel for Japanese Endurance races

Went to get inspection at Nissan yesterday (passed emissions easily, which is good). They said the 350 came into their warehouse yesterday and would be coming to the dealer today or tomorrow.

BTW, somebody backed out --- so they have one to sell, it's silver. If anybody wants to make a long drive for a car. But it will sell very quickly.

That won't stop people from trying..... it's a shame people can't appreciate a car that's good from the factory.

For anybody interested, I just went with some friends on a cruise around Atlanta to try and find a 350Z. After going to 4 different Nissan dealers, and looking through the shop windows and stuff, we finally found a one at Gwinnett Place Nissan. It was a blue one, parked inside the shop. Unfortunatly we couldn't get up close to it, but man I was drooling. That was the first one I've seen in person, and daaaaaaaaaamnn I want one.

I would almost consider trading in my spec V for it, if I could keep the payments roughly the same (which won't happen).
