The Brave Little Toaster. Scared the crap out of me when I was young. I still hate that damn air-conditioner dude...

Oldies, but awesome:

1. "Alien" the first one - the sequels were tame by comparison.

2. "The Exorcist". Kept me awake many nights.

call me crazy but the exorcist was pretty scary (specially being catholic and believing everything could really happen).

The latest I liked and had some good scary moments was the new "dawn of the dead"

Hey did you guys hear about the Exorcist sequel? They put A LOT of $$$ into it so it better be good. I plan on watching the exorcist for the first time before the sequel. IDK. Something about that movie has kept me away from watching it. Witch one is worse the original or the remake?

the remake is the same one...just digitally remastered and w/some new scenes (kinda like director's cut).

The Shining was pretty scary, the first time you see it anyway . . . maybe not the scariest, but seeing Jack Nicholson acting like a complete nutcase is unusual at anything other than Lakers games, so it's entertaining enough for that fact alone. :-) Other than that, can't really think of other scary flicks . . .

The movie: "Johnny Got His Gun" from the 1950's or early '60's. Not really scary in a scary horror film conventional way but very disturbing. I believe Metallica used clips from the movie for a video in the late 80's.

Quote »4. The Grudge (very scary)[/quote]I have to agree. But you all need to work in a big movie store to get it. I work nights at BORDERS and got it 2 months ago. creepy. and foreign.

The Grudge and The Entity, huh. Do you really have to work in a big movie store to get The Grudge?

I haven't seen a real scary movie in my life. So far I've seen The Shining, Blair Witch Project, The Ring, The Exorcist, all Scream's, It, The Poltergeist, and that's all I can think of right now. Everyone I've spoken to about The Ring said they were about to pee in their pants while watching it, but I didn't find it scary at all. I'm just weird like that. And is that doll Chucky movie scary? I haven't seen that one.

The Chucky movies aren't scary at all. More humorous than anything else...

Stir of Echoes - not scary in the conventional sense, but a very psychologically and visually disturbing film in spots. I got the chills watching it.

Haha, yeah, Redrum was weird the first time you see the movie, and almost funny everytime after. The Shining was probably more dramatic than horror, but I still like it . . .

The Ring is sort of scary, but more suspense than anything else . . . movies haven't scared me in a while, but towards the end, when the girl crawls out of the TV, that was kind of creepy. :-) Scary Movie 3 had some great parodies of that movie, BTW . . .

The Serpent and the Rainbow. pretty damn messed up. makes me never want to go to haiti.

Jacob's Ladder. Another really damn messed up movie. it jumps so much and is so crazy that i freaked me out, and i LOVE horror movies.

In the Mouth of Madness. Based on H.P. Lovecraft's stories, one of the best movies i've seen. the bad guys win....very twisted and creepy. if you've read the stories, then it will make more sense.

The remake of the Thing was actually one of the best remakes i've seen. most just suck, but that one was good.

Also, the orig. invasion of the body snatchers was really good too. another of those do the good guys win or the bad guys????
