So I go to change my thermostat today... no biggie (except for the Nismo one wouldn't fir and the place I bought it from is refunding me and sending me an OEM one, which is good cuz the one I got a O'Reilly is 86^C as opposed to the stock 82^C) Well I kinda lost my OEM thermo elbow gasket. SO I bust out the RTV...

On the way to my g/f's house, boosting all the way (BTW, w/ my 3" on, man-o-man the turbo is like connected to my damn foot! I <3 it!!) I keep an eye on the temp gauge and threw a gallon of 50/50 coolant in my trunk. I get about 1 mile from her place, when in a matter of seconds, the temp gauge shoots from a little over halfway to FULL Hot!!! AAAHHHHHH! So I turn into a gas station, and kill it quick style. Pop the hood and coolant is spewing all over the place from the blown RTV gasket. Damn. Call g/f on my cel...

Trip #1 to O'Reilly: Get another OEM gasket and another gallon of 50/50. Drive back to my house (13 miles) to grab some tools and go back to my car. Get the gasket in and fill the rad. Turn on the car to get the air bubbles out and low and behold: one of the coolant lines that we capped off under the TB blew off its cap (better than a rad hose going I guess)

Trip #2 to O'Reilly: Buy a $9 box of vac caps and zip ties (which I have at home grumble grumble) and go back to car. Put the cap on. Crank her. Idles fines, revvs fine, and now holds coolant! Yay! just as I am about to leave, my buddy that works up the street at a BMW/Mazda/Hyundai dealership pulls up in a car ready for delivery (Mazda3...looks better inside that I would have thought) He has the company gas card to fill up the 3 for the person that just bought it. He fills it w/ 93 and then fills my car up as well! How bad a$$ is that! So all in all...it was a fun night
