They don't like the grill, I don't like the grill. I'll get it back to this condition, damn the expense. Minus the grill of course :)

that is a nice write up but I can't believe that they did not do some 0-60 & 1/4 mile times in the car and publish them given that they got 318hp

interesting to note that they mention that Stillen modified the ECU with no mention of JWT......

I concur. Lazy bastards should have driven it to a track. I'm wondering if a more complete write up was done in a different mag, after the car had some time to get broken in and what not.

This is the only mag I know of, that it was written up in

My favorite part of the article really has nothing to do with this Q in paticular, but the Q as a whole

"Brabhams comments also speak perfectly for people, like us, love the Q45. This is both a fast car and a luxury car, and its merits lies in its ability to adapt to different demands with unwavering excellence. It is a mistake , we think, to see the greater sales of the Lexus LS400 (largely restricted to California, oddly enough) as a failure in the Q45s concept. The Infiniti is a car with a strong personality, and the enthusiasm of its owners, the strength of its reputation, and the longevity of its appeal are likely the better for it"

We wern't the only ones to get it :)

Looking at how it looked new, you have a lot of work ahead for yourself to get it to it's past glory. Good luck and I cant wait to see it finished.

That's an affirmative :)

Here is what it needs for it's glorious return:

All decals removedRoll cage removedFront bumper cover/grill/emblem replacedBrakes replacedSuspension rehabed

Probably going to order about a gallon of crimson pearl paint/clearcoat etc and have all the rough spots taken care of. Most if not all of this will be done by the time the car makes it's redebut at Silver sate classic. The paint is in stellar condiition, the body kit needs the paint the most.. Lots of chips.

The interior is perfect and needs nothing. Too me the custom leather was worth what I paid for the car alone.

Purchased it from Kryder Racing. They commisioned it for racing. It was raced in one 24 hour endurance race and then served as official pace car for a few years, and then was retired.

Thank god for nico, I will need everyones help getting this thing restored :)

It's awesome to have a "famous" car on board.

There's only a few famous Q's in existence: Thie Brabham Q, the Cosby Q, the Indy Pace Q, the Bonneville Q....

There's another I'm sure, can't recall right now.

May I ask what you paid for it? How did you find out that it was for sale (or did you approach them with an offer)?

With fred owning the BAD car and you getting the supercharged bad prototype, don't we own every known Q ever built?

I think so...

I can't think of any other "well-known" Q's out there.

We should start working on getting the Indy Q (should be for sale in the next decade), and I'd LOVE to find Cosby's Q (custom paint and interior)...

Well, I think Ichiro's last 2001 Q45 went back to the auctions, so someone has one and probably doesn't even know. Maybe he kept it for th ewife, but I doubt it. I think he may have had a 2000 Q45 also. His heavily modified G35 would be a hoot.

What about that black Q45 in Hollywood or Beverly Hills that was owned by a"famous personality"? Seemed like it had some custom work.

Ah, I recall that one... We never did find out who the "personality" was, did we?

IMO, Ichiro doesn't count. One-year leases without modifications don't exactly make for an "interesting" car....

Well, there's always this one:

Oh, Suzie Q, Oh, Suzie QOh, Suzie Q, baby I love you, Suzie Q

A personal favorite of mine, anyway.

Thursday could work, otherwise we're into next week. That is unless you want to have lunch at the lake, in which case Friday, Saturday and Sunday are in play. Let me know via email, phone, dixie cup/string, or smoke signal.

More than 1,700 VIPs and corporate supporters attended a black-tie gourmet dinner and a special pre-party reception hosted by world renowned Chef Emeril Lagasse. Following dinner, Robert Earl, president and CEO of the Official All-Star Cafe and Jack Williams, vice president for American Airlines, hosted the live auction. The live auction boasted an incredible list of items including a Round of Golf with Arnold Palmer and Mark O'Meara on premier golf courses in Orlando, Florida, Bill Cosby's custom designed 1997 Infiniti Q45, an intimate dinner with Robin Williams at his restaurant in San Francisco, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy a private lunch with General Colin Powell in his offices in Washington D.C. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Lets see if we can find out who won it, this car was auctioned off at a charity event put on my Andre Agassi

FWIW, the auction was part of "the Fourth Annual Grand Slam for Children show on Sat., Sept. 26 1998 ... blah blah blah ... The event will also feature a black-tie dinner and auction, where attendees can bid on a dinner with Robin Williams and Bill Cosby's custom-designed Infiniti Q45...more blah blah blah"

If someone is really interested they might try contacting his Andre Agassi's charity organization to see if any info is available.

Meanwhile Mcenroe's new show on MSNBC is the lowest rated in all of cable news! Hes a charismatic guy and all, but not really suited to a talk show.

What were they thinking?
