If you simply wanna find out if there are any error codes, you don't need to buy the CONSULT stuff. If your ECU has a knob on the back with a red LED, you can put the ECU into a mode where it will read out the codes with the LED. Read the FSM or search on here it'll tell you all you need to know... If you have a S2 RB25 you're outta luck tho, they don't seem to have the led/knob . All 20's should, dunno bout the 26's... Of course if you want more detailed info like sensor voltages, temperatures, RPM, etc, a CONSULT tool is the only way to go and a great troubleshooting investment.
