Scan gauge II question

i've got a question about the cable on the scan gauge II for all of you have them. i was looking at them on their website and saw that the place where it plugs into the display unit looks like a cat 5 ethernet connection. is it? does anybody know? i want to get one but i want to put it in the sunglass holder location behind the rear view mirror, but i don't believe that the factory cable is long enough.

The cable isn't a cat-5 it is an OBD-2 to a phone cable. I would assume if you bought en extender it might work but I dont know. I think they sell longer cables for it though.

they sell extra cables so that you do not have to take the cable with you from car to car.

when you say "phone cable" do you mean like the four pin one that plugs into a wall jack?

i got one & the cable is atleast 6ft long. mine's on top of my steering colum & have plenty bundeled under dash

A phone cable would also be known as an RJ-11 cable.

(As opposed to a cat5/network cable, which is RJ-45)
