id go with the sc61, looks like a nice size turbo. even a garrett t3/60-1 is a great choice! they run around 700$ shipped! big shaft and 360dgree thrust bearing. look into the t3/60-1 i think ull like it, cheap very reliable turbo. Hope this helps you a lil bit

Yeah with a turbo that size your going to need to go with some 550cc or bigger. it all depends on the power you want, id always go bigger just to be safe

okay here is another question. how long does a after market turbo last before it has shaft play?. ill be driving my car everyday, about 20 miles round trip highways. and i have a turbo timer built into my alarm set for 1 minute. with some royal purple oil changed every 2500 - 3000 miles.

Depends a lot on quality. Maintenance and level of use/abuse will affect it as well. If you go with a quality name brand, such as Garrett, you keep it within it's rated PSI levels, you install it properly, and you don't abuse it, then it should last 50-100k miles.

One of the turbos is capable of 450+WHP and the other is capable of 400WHP at max.

The SC61 will also have considerably more lag.

Doesn't a sponsor sell the 60-1 for $599 shipped?

Not to mention a higher level of difficulty and price getting it installed on your car..

The extra $400 dollars gets you a turbo that bolts on to the stock manifold. You'll need an install kit from Frsport.com for the 2871R to be a bolt in affair. If you go SC61 you'll need a Top mount, custom downpipe, oil/h2o lines and most likely an external wastegate. So in the end you'll end up spending more money to get the SC61 installed vs the 2871R. It all depends on what you want from your car. Personally I like a fast responsive car, not a lag monster...

Depending on how much abuse the engine is going to take the SC61 might be a better choice especially considering that when the BB Garrett goes he'll have to buy a new one. Rebuilds on the SC61 will be chump change compared to that. Also if he is only dragging his car, the extra response of the Garrett is useless.
