Do you guys like the look of the SC430 Wheels on the 1st Gen Q?

Here is a pic I found from somewhere and saved it. I don't remember where exactly it's from. It may belong to a member here.

According to the Tire Rack, they recommend a 245/40-18 tire and that is what comes standard on the SC430, so if the bolt pattern, hub diameter and offset are right, then these rims and tires should bolt right on.

Anyone have other pics of these wheels on a Q45?

That pic was also posted on here very recently. They have already been converted as the Lexus center bore is smaller. Lexus also have higher offset's so your wheels will be more sunken in without wheel spacers.

I posted that pic about 2 weeks ago. I don't like those wheels on the Q and I would not consider those wheels as an "upgrade".

Here is the info I just found:

Lexus:

Bolt Pattern: 144.3Offset: +45Hub Diameter: 60.1Nuts: 12 x 1.50 pitch

Infiniti:

Bolt Pattern: 144.3Offset: +45Hub Diameter: 66.1Nuts: 12 x 1.25 pitch

Looks like the wheels need to be bored and new nuts will be needed since the thread is different.

That particular set of wheels has already been bored out, and you don't need new nuts, you use the studs and nuts you already have.

If not you (sorry but don't recognize your NICO ID) search on Lexus.com wheel classifieds and you will find a dude who recently posted them for sale in the past 2 weeks....that is where I got the pic from on his for sale thread. I think he is in the Carolina's or Cali...can remember which state.

If I understand correctly, Piepans are the oem wheel on the Q45 early years, possibly suggesting that you think the SC430 wheels resemble them and that they are not what you might call an upgrade regarding design, but in dimension only. I can understand how the oem design can be considered boring to some, especially since we see so many of them. We all have our preferences and that's what makes our cars unique and gives us a variety of different tastes.

I was thinking that the SC430 wheels + tires package could be purchased for not a lot of money from what I've found so far and since the tires on them are the right size for the Q45, that makes them a bargain to me.

Also, I believe that one can use 2 different style caps on the wheels. I'm not sure, but I put together some pics to describe what I mean:

Actually I was saying to myself yesterday that I wished that they made the piepans in 18". Yes those wheels do resemble the piepans of the Q. The piepans may be boring but they're ultra light and feel damn good on the Q. I just took off my Fittipaldi Polaris (by OZ) wheels in favor of the piepans just because they feel better. I like those SC430 wheels a lot, but one thing to think about is how it would look if the car isn't slammed like that one. I honestly think it would look pretty sorry because you'll have all that wheel and some gap to go along with it. If you use the 5 spoke fitting then it might look a little better. Just what are you going to do about the "L" though?

Can anyone photoshop the piepans in 18"?

IMHO I think the "pie pans" are more in keeping with the subtle elegance of the G50. I like the SC430 rims - not perfect but definitely keeping in character w/the Q. I think too many rims these days are screaming too loudly for attention - I find this dis-tasteful and somewhat obnoxious.

There were similar piepan (18") style rims on the last generation Audi A8 that would go perfectly with the G50. But I believe that the bolt pattern does not fit.

If anyone has PChop skills (maybe request in Gen Chat), have them chop some Impul Silhouette's (see attached) on your Q.

They'd be easy to clean, but I think they have a 5 x 112 bolt pattern like Mercedes.

Hey NOW .

I think I'm going to swap the Inf centers from the G35 wheels ... wonder if that will hurt the G35 wheels re-sale value??

Oh, I knew you must be, and Wes is an easy target (the pink stands out so brightly ).

I have no problem sporting the Nis-burger, but would like to convert them to the Inf logo if I can.
