for 19 k you can buy a 2k2 I35 with soem shopping around.

It may be FWD but its a faster car than SC300.

Roomier too, standard Xenons etc etc.

the sc300 would be great it shares the same engine as an NA supra so there is a pretty big aftermarket supply for it

$19K?

Dude - For that, you could get a G35 Coupe and have a $150/month car payment... AND a fat warranty.

They did. Several times. You think a Gen 1 Q can't whoop up on an SC300 or a 400 for that matter? And I think they have conclusively proved they won this category if what you are talking about is a 2 door with the G35. Think about what Lexus has to compare with in a 2 door. The SC430? Fat, eggshaped underperforming, no back seat, way overpriced rich chick car.....$62,000, you don't see many. Are you starting to see a lot of G35 coupes, I am. That is a market killer definition. AND the back seat is usable. Now if it HAD to be a convertible comparison let's talk about the Z. Now you have a convertble with 3 times the performance at half the price. Never made an SC killer? Not true.

Well...a SC400 competitor from the standpoint that if you wanted V8 power and a coupe, you couldn't find that at an Infiniti dealership. I'm not in that price bracket, but I'd assume such things have a cachet....sorta like you can buy a 6 cylinder S Class Benz, but you'd rather have the 8...or better yet the 12.

I meant one that is a coupe, RWD , has some potential in performance and is luxurious.

They are selling SO MANY 350Z's and many of those are already entering the used car market.

Right now, you can buy 2k3's 350Z's for 26k all day long.

In approx 8 months you will see a substantial number of used Z's approx 20 k.

Modern cool cars more chick appeal that SC300 better handling, faster and a lots of warranty left.

I would definetly wait a bit longer if I was you to get a lot more car for what your budget is.

Look for a 98 240 with ALL the creature comforts (leather, PW, PDL, LSD, etc), take the Nissan badges and order some Infiniti badges from Joe.

I'm thinking you could have the first ever GQ 24 and some serious cash left over :D

in my opinion the J30 is the sc300 equivalent, except better in every respect.

Well yeah...but like you said, lots of Z's out there...and it's not even 2 years old.

Plus the price diff is pretty large, even if you wait. Up here, you can cop an SC400 for about 10 g's Canadian...or so I've seen.

I think of the SC much like I think of the J30...up here you don't see very many...and that's something I like about those cars.

Well thanks for all your input guys. The 350 and G35 is above my budget and im not willing to wait a few more months to afford one because i need a car Real soon. And the J30 isnt really my styling, it is a relatively cheap car but not what im really looking for. I still gatta ponder this out before i choose what I wanna buy, Why does this gatta be such a tough decision :(

Hey, that'd be sweet. The M30 convertible is ridiculously unique too. Looks sleek in black or pearl/beige. Bulletproof V6, RWD.

I didn't even know those existed until I saw one for sale and I was like "wha?!" sweet looking cars...

I'd have to agree with the BMW 8 series as well, very cool looking cars, not sure if I'd want to pay to fix that sucker though.

NICO founder Rex (sn Speeddoctor) (not me) has one and I think they were going to turbo it. Would be worth searching on the Infiniti Online Mechanic for M30 to see what you find.

15 grand for a 92? It has to be in mint condition with like 20k miles on it right? I saw a few for like 4 grand or so around here. I personally don't care for a convertible, but I definately think the M30 is nice. Plus, it's probably the rarest Infiniti Model, because I know they only made them for like 3 years. I know that car has the same motor as the n/a z31 300z, the VG30E. If your one of those mod crazy guys it wouldn't be too hard to swap a Turboed z31 motor in it. I'm not sure, but I thought I heard that guy Rex has a turboed M30? Now that has to be sweet!
