Disclaimer:
Ok first a disclaimer. I'm waiting to hear back from Greg as to how he wants to handle these parts. Possibly group buy, possibly Fab Marketplace. I won't be releasing any details about pricing until I get his blessing.

What's all the hooplah about?
Now on to the good stuff. I have two awesome products that should be back from the CNC Machinist shop in about 4 weeks. Over the past 2 months a good friend of mine and I have been talking about manufacturing parts. He's been in the performance scene selling Nissan and Infiniti parts since I met him 5 or 6 years ago. We both have pretty intimate knowledge of the VQ/FM platforms and wanted to make something that similar to the grounding kits in that it was affordable, effective, and could be made using high quality materials.

And this is what was born

Image

AND

Image

Lightweight stock diameter pulleys for the G35 Coupe (03-07), G35 Sedan (03-06 and 07-08), G37 (09-present), G25 (?). This will also fit the 350z and 370Z. FX35 (both engines), M35 (both engines), EX35.

Weight loss is between 4 and 5 lbs depending on the application. Computer engineered and CNC lathed and milled from 6061 T6 Aluminum. These pulleys are very strong and very light.

Rumors
Just to quickly disspell some rumors and myths. Modern crank shafts have been internally balanced for at least 20-25 years. Due to the manufacturing process, these pulleys are also balanced by default. Grenading an engine is not really a worry here.

Performance
On to the performance aspect. Reducing rotating mass is not as clean and simple as saying "X HP increase." Will changing out your cast pulley out for one of these Aluminum ones free up power? Yes. Will your engine rev faster and drop faster? Yes. Lightweight crank pulleys are like lightweight flywheels, they don't truly make any more hp, they just reduct parasitic losses allowing you to get closer to that 300ish HP that the manufacturer advertised (to the wheels).

Instead of going on and on, I'll just answer questions as they come about and add them to this post.

FAQ

Are these pulleys underdriven?
No. But I do have another set that are and can include lightweight accessory pulleys too.

When will these be available?
Target date is June 15th. I'll update this if anything changes.

Sweet! Dodge did not bother to internally balance the crank on the 2004 Hemi ram.

I did have a hemi ram...

It is a cool mod especially if the crank is internally balanced. Couple a light weight pulley with a light weight flywheel and the G should rev like a racecar.

Is it also going to be underdrive?

If your going to all the trouble to change the pulley wouldn't you want light weight and underdrive to you get MAX gains?

It was a joke on Dodge for calling it a Hemi when it's not really a hemispherical engine.

As for underdrive...meh. I have a batch of underdrive pulleys with lightweight accessories if anybody wants them, but they aren't my own brand. Made by the same engineer and one of the CNC machinst we use.

I'm not a fan of making things work outside of normal operating ranges. The underdrives are usually 10% smaller in diameter with a lower moment of intertia which definitely makes a differences, but I think the difference of stock to lightweight is bigger than lightweight to underdrive if that make any sense.

Also, these should be lighter and at a better value than anything else on the market. Nate's business model is WIN!

Werd, 2 plugs per cylinder, I had 6.1 coil packs and aluminum wrinkle finish valve covers on mine. On the 6.1 both plugs fire at the same time on the 5.7 stock the 2nd plug fires on the exhaust stroke for emissions. Also the 5.7 uses plug wires and a 'waste' spark system.

I also ran a plasma booster for a 4.6 Mustang, Snow Water/meth. I wanted a pulley set but on the Hemi it was death due to the corners Dodge cut

Ford and Dodge...will never own one due to past errors in company judgment. Chevy is close with the Volt fiasco...

Nate, as for your pulley, looks good man! No more mods for me..saving for the next car.

Kareem,

I still need to get you those replacement wires. I haven't forgotten. Feel free to get on my about it if I don't send them to you in the next few days.

I'm waiting on a reply from Greg, but just FYI, early adopters will get this product at a nice discount.
