SBC LS series need help

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

01-up. Even the 99-00 block will work just the crank has to be swapped.

whats the new quetsion????

do an lq4, put 243 heads, p&p them, cam and springs and arp rodbolts with a good tune. the 317 heads off the later lq4's dont flow bad but the 243's raise the compression

The LQ4/LQ9 is just an iron 6.0 with a different intake, set up and different accessory drive (bigger throttle body, better coil packs, heavier pistons). Guys run them all the time.

To correct the post above. Use the L92 heads, not 243's L92's only work with 4 inch bore and above, and blow much much better then 243's. And you can use a T56 any 98-2002 f-body T56, or GTO T56 the better fitting choice is the LS F body T56

Why do you say the F-body is a better fitting choice? GTO T56 has the same dimensions does it not, just shorter ratios in 1-3, and 5-6 with better synchros?

I can agree the L92's do flow more. the L92 setups i usually see are way over priced compared to 243's. Seeing how many L92's have been made compared to the amount of motors 243's came on.

Brand new L92 heads are 475.00 each fully assembled, where the LS6 heads are 812.00. Yes you can get a set of 243's used with lower miles for about 400 a set, cheaper for higher miles. But it's a used head so then you want to have them pressure tested, checked for straightness. Then replace valve stem seals while in there.

Where for 900-1000 L92s brand new, sell the valve springs, buy some nice patriot racing of PRC springs. Cam it, and go

If you use the stock shifter yea but the GTO shifter assembly can be removed and replaced with the FBody shifter and its the exact same then.
