Hey all,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm from NJ and I just bough a 1990 300ZX turbo. I've wanted this car since I was a kid and I couldn't be happier. The only thing it needs is new tires. This has lead to the discovery that buying tires for the stock wheels is quite a challenge. Since I as probably going to get new wheels at some point I figured I might as well do it now. I'd like a 17" or 18" wheels in a staggered fitment. I do not want to roll the fenders or make any physical alterations. Will I be able to fit n 8.5" wheel up front and a 9.5" wheel in the back? I read some of the info on the Wheel sticky in the technical forum but I'm still unclear. Thanks for any help and happy to be here.

8.5" +35 front 245/40/18 and 9.5" +35 275/35/18 rear will fit without needing a roll unless you really lower the car down on coilovers then the rear would need a little work or a smaller tire/camber. I suggest 18's over 17's for aesthetic reasons. Something like a 18x9 +30-35 255/35/18 would work front and rear without fender work and allow you to rotate the wheels front to back, plus a square tire setup gives more neutral handling.

Thanks for the response. What are you running on your car (I assume that's your in your sig). It looks awesome.

Thanks it is my car in the sig. I am running 18x9 +25 front and 18x10 +35 rear on a 255/285 setup but mine required a roll in the rear as well as some modding to the rear bumper tab and some minor work to the fender liners and tabs in the front due to being lowered quite a bit.

Staggered set up is a bit of a pain if you ask me. I have 18x8.5 +25 (25mm spacer so +0) up front and 18x10 +25 in the rear. I had to add the spacer up front to get it a more flush look, plus now that it's staggered I can't really rotate my tires (which are 225/40 and 255/35)

Here's my car from the side to show you how far it sits in the car

Do you have an idea about which wheels you had in mind, and maybe the offsets for them? If I could give one piece of advice, it's to maybe try and get 4 of the same sizes, easier to rotate tires.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I found some tires for the stock wheels, so I may go with that for now.
