I haven't posted as much as I usually do in other forums, but I wanted to say bye and thanks to all of you that have given me tips over the past year. After over 10 trips to the dealer over the last year I decided to finally trade in my 03 M45 for an 05 BMW 530i. I will miss the rare factor and power of the M, but I was about 5K miles away from my extended warranty expiring and I added up all of my trips to the dealership over the last year and I would have spent over $6000 if I didn't have the warranty. They were ridiculous things like 2 different air bag sensors, replacing the seat rails, replacing the driverside mirror to fix the memory seat since they are all connected. (that one was bizzare), 2 tire pressure monitors, replacing a piece of the exhaust, and finally replacing the gauge cluster because of the common gas gauge problem.

Anyway, I never felt inconvenced since my dealership was about 2 miles from my office and they always provided me with a new g35 or fx35 as a loaner each time. Inskip Infiniti in RI is a great place to buy a car and have it serviced. If I didn't have so many problems I would have kept it and probably garaged it as a unique toy years down the road.

By the way the 530i is fantastic! What it lacks in power is certainly made up for in handling and features in the car.

Once again bye to all and thanks again!

Sorry to see you go. I do remember you having more then the normal issues w/ your M and that's too bad. Unfortunetly you ended up w/ a lemon, but looks like you fixed all the issues. Just don't turn into one of those Bimmer elitists.

And, equally important, please feel free to hang around, post and read. We have a number of members who do not own Nissan or Infiniti vehicles (sometimes never to begin with!) and still post regularly.

I just wanted to say hello and goodbye to all of you again. I finally have some pics of my new ride. I've already started my mods. Thankfully there are many more available than there were for the M45. (my wallet hates me already) I really missed the mods. I already got new wheels and many other things.

Anyway, I wanted to share since this will probably be my last post here. I'm sure I will be here visiting every few days reading what could have been. Thanks for everything! BTW...the good old M is for sale at a used car place in Bridgewater, MA. STAY AWAY from this problematic M!!! If it wasn't such a lemon I would still have it!

nice car. That's the one I wanted before I saw my M. Too bad you had so many problems with yours but it seems like you are happy again and that's what matters.

Damn I love those rims! They are similar to the ones on the 760Li. One thing about BMW's is that you can't stop modding them. I have spent more money modding my BMW than any other car. But you have to love the no cost warranty on the BMW's. Hope you enjoy the new ride.

Nice car.

Don't buy in to the BMW OCI if you want to resell or keep your car after the warranty expires.

BMW OCI? I just googled that with no clear understanding? What do you mean?

Hello,I believe Mannix is referring to oil change interval. BMW's specify synthetic oil with intervals based on the car's computers. These intervals are often 10,000 miles and more. Sorry your M was cursed and best wishes with your new car.Cheers,M.L
