Well after almost a year with my V, I will have to say good bye soon. I bought a house out in the country which requires a few back roads to get to and the V just does not handle the road, or long steep driveway very well. Of the two times I went up the driveway in the winter before we closed on the house, I got stuck, twice. Along with the impulse buy that I did buying my 2008 Versa SL with sports, tech, convienence, audio, moonroof, and power package that set me back $21,500 after titles, taxs and fees. All things considered it was a great car, fun to drive, but will not meet my needs in the years to come. My payoff amount is $16,700 and the dealership said they will pay it off if I buy another vehicle from them.

I do have a Fujita CAI that I was going to install this spring, but will not be needing now.

I also have the black altezza tail lights on the car, which the dealership may or may not require me to switch. So I may have those for cheap as well.

Thanks for all the info, and input it was great being a member.

Contact me at [email protected] if you want the intake or any interest in the tail lights.

wow that's a great payoff. what will you get? i think the rogue went through extensive upgrading this last year you might consider the rogue. all the motor divisions want way too much for crossover but i am pretty sure the rogue won consumers digest best buy award. i am a big proponent to program vehicles. my girlfriend got a mazda 5 this winter for 13,900 dollars which is a 21,000 car so you can find good bargains on nissan certified used cars. good luck with everything.

I test drove a Rogue, wasn't a huge fan, I didn't fit well in it. (6'1" - 280#)

I really liked the test drive of the Murano, but have not found one that was in my price range. Trying to get my payments lower.

I test drive a 09 Jeep Liberty Sport, 16,000 miles, for $14,995. I really liked this and I have the dealer looking for one in Blue. Hopefully something like this can workout.

I am definately impressed with the direction Nissan has gone in the past ten years. They really seem to have premium vehicles in all categories.

You never mentioned if the new car has to be at retail price or not. If not, I can offer a VPP discount if the dealership will work with you on a VPP discount. That may drop $3-4K off the sticker price to keep you in the Nissan family.

Used Xterra an option for you?

And if that's the same dealer, try not to let them rape you as much as they did for that Versa, wow.

Sorry to hear that you will sell your V.

As for replacement I would suggest hands down a Toyota Rav4 V6. That's one awesome SUV.

Good luck!

VPP, I have never heard of that. So you are implying that I can get a $21,000 Rogue for $3-4,000 less? That would be great, especially if it could work on used vehicles? Any chance of that? I am trying to stay under $16,000 with taxes, titles, and fees to get my payments down.

With the Xterra I seem to be in the same boat as the Murano. I like the newer body styles 07-09, but have been unable to find one around $15,000 with less than 30,000 miles. I did a 250 mile radius search for dealers and called around.

The same issue with a four door frontier. Well, hopefully I can be at a better financial place in 5 years when this next loan will be paid off in order to be able t get a 2014 Murano, Frontier, or something else Nissan.

I'll try to pull some Rogue prices today for an '09 and see what VPP prices look like.

2009 FWD Auto (cvt) Rogue w/o options, retail = $22,590 before TTLVPP price is 21,024.17 before TTL

2008 2wd Auto Rogue VPP = $20,246.63

Not a huge break, but could $2k if you can find an '08.

Thanks Promise Land, but that is still more than I want to pay. Plus more good news, the dealer is back peddling on their trade in amount, I thought it was too good to be true and it may be. I will have to stick it to them, and make them keep their word. hopefully. Otherwise it will be studded snow tires and slow driving for me next winter...

Based on your first dealings with that dealer I wouldn't trust them for anything.
