Okay guys I know this is a stupid question but please humor me because it is really bugging me I have a friend that has a wrx and a friend that has a mazda speed 3. Both claimed to beat a 350z from a dead stop and from a roll. Tell me they are lying to me.

Both are fast cars. Is the WRX an STI? Turboed 4 bangers with about 300 hp. Its possible.

Number one it could have been a bad driver they were going against, number two they driver may not have been racing them. Number three was it stock Z vs. a modded WRX and Mazda Speed 3?

I have had a guy say he beat me in his Si before when I didn't even attempt to race him.

The wrx possibly, with a good driver can launch that thing way ahead of a 350. i.e. goodies like symmetrical awd help. (boo)

Ms3 i doubt, i've seen an automatic z with just a drop in filter completely walk one from a dig, and get beaten from a roll.

But then again these cars wouldn't be where they are today if it weren't for the snails backing it up.

Give a 350 some snails and it'll be a different story.

The wrx is not a sti but he has a greddy exhaust, ecu retuned, new racing clutch, flywheel, pulley and the mazda speed 3 guy is completley stock except his aftermarket exhaust. And yeah, if I had my 350z I would have allready taken these guys to the track but I've been saving up to buy a used one cash which probably won't be til the beginning of the year (I'm a a poor college student )My wrx friend keeps insisting that I race him when I get my 350z and lets just say there are some high stakes on the table so I probably won't race him until I turbo the z .

the Z isn't what I consider "fast" depending on year and trim the 350Z runs anywhere form a 13.5 to a 14.2 in the qarter miles, the 08 WRX STI manages the quarter in 13.3, the 08 Mazdaspeed 3 takes 14.2, and for what it's worth, they are both Fugly grocery getters, they would like to have a Z but they have to take the kids to soccer practice

and keep it off the streets, racing from a"roll" if for retards, I suppose the wagon resembles their special little bus

i have raced a mazdaspeed 3 from a dig and a roll and beat him pretty badly both times... My Z is completely stock too so im sure you would be fin there. I have a friend with a WRX with similar mods to what you described and he had been in my car with me a few times and refuses to race me. I am pretty sure a Z with anyone who can drive halfway decent would be able to handle those 2 cars... not that i condone racing or anything

I have a both a MS3 and a 350z. Yes.... I have beaten my Z with the MS3.
