What would I need to do to get it legalized in the USA? I have a friend how has my old skyline at his house which i still own and he wants it gone. So how do i get it legal in Minnesota? Could I switch the chassis and registrar it as the car i switched the chassis with?

The simple truth is three words long.

Not

Gonna

Happen

There are plenty of threads on NICO about this very subject...along with an article that can be found here.

Take a few mintues (an hour or so) and read up. Search through the other threads here on NICO. You'll find out your answers.

Yes, go ahead and swap VINs with a legal U.S. car. And, after you have done that, please come back here and post your name, address, and DOB for us. Thanks!

And in case the sarcasm was lost, I find your definition of "legalization" disturbing. One day, it will be legal to import the R33 GT-R into the U.S. as an antique. At that point, specimens in good condition will be worth their weight in gold. Until then, please don't give our government reason to crush any more of them than they already do.

I've wondered about this as well I have seen about ten or so R33's in MN and wondered how in the hell???

Theres even one on craigslist who claims it is registered with a clean title. So either it and the rest of the r33's are track cars or are just here illegally.

Registered and federally legal are two different things. Even if you have registration , ICE can come and seize your car. Heres one in Texas that was seized.

And, no one has answered the question - WHAT'S A TRACK CAR?. Extra points if you answer it correctly.

Just like Sean said above me, titled and Fed legal are not the same thing. Ask those people to provide proof that their Skylines have passed all federal standards/inspections/etc. and they'll most likely start making up some BS story about how since their cars have a state title, it's "state legal". Let it be known now...there is no such thing. Remember these three words.

Federal trumps state.

Bottom line.
