I saw my very first "05 M45 in person as I sat in traffic today. Some impressions, love the front end, the vehicles lines are a bit remniscent of the Lexus GS, the rear very current generation Maxima. Kind of looked to me like a slightly stretched G35. The car rode on large chrome rims with Infiniti loge center caps (when did they start making these?). I have a feeling the car was being driven by NIssan Canada people to get some of the publics impression. Some peole noticed the car, lots of others didn't. Its not like the last generation M45, which whenever I saw one had everybody gawking.

I saw the new M at the Chicago Auto Show last week. Really a sweet ride! Loved the size- the g35 seems too tight , the F50 felt too bulky- I think they got the proportions just right on the M. Interior is beautifully done as well.

I saw one on the road this weekend pulling in right in front of me as we were pulling into the INfiniti Dealership. Sign in the car clearly said Vehicle is not for Sale. I loved the head and tail lights with Bullet chamber projector lights. Looks like they merged the M and Q bodies togehter, whta the heck it looks like the cut both cars apart and tooks bits and pieces from each model and created teh new M.,

It was an M45X, I dont know the significance of the X. Is it the all wheel drive like the G35X

Yep! V6 AWD.

Might as well call it a GQ45. I'm not enthusiastic about the body, but I find it to be pretty agreeable. The interior is stunning, and I bet it whips the new RL and STS on the road.

Sad, but true.

I am also disappointed by the look of the new M45 (have said so here in the recent past too - maybe to the chagrin of a few folks who like it better than the 2003/04 M45!)

Couldn't be. Must have been a M35x = AWD.

Its hard to get away with striking, polarizing designs in the luxury market. BMW bombed with the 7, for example. Lexus whipped Infiniti in sales with relaxed and highly derivative styling.

Cadillac, however, does well with a love-it-or-hate it looks, selling more and more units each year. So does Porsche with the Cayenne (god, I hate that thing).

Believe it or not, they just spent 65 million on advertizing for it. This is something they should have spent years ago.

I prefer the older M style as well, I cant stop staring at one when I am driving on the road as it passes me.

Aero kit front end? The whole kit really helps dispel some of the Passat on steroids look.

Exterior wise, I prefer the old, but interior wise the new one wins hands down.

So true, as does the handling, I am sure. A better (stiffer), if not prettier, platform.

in my parking garage at work there are 3 M45's and another 2 that I see every day on the way into work through the neighborhood. I think that somehow the current M45 was a late bloomer and now the buying public is just starting to realize what an awesome car for the monies it is. Too bad I can't find any M45's to race. All seem to be driven by more of the quiet type of people.

I drove the M35 last week amazing power from the V6. Totally impressed with the interior and sound system but the new body doesn't really "do it" for me. I'm going to hang onto my 03 even though it was a "sleeper" on the market. I have a feeling the body style will be in demand now that it's not available. I went to the dealer Saturday to drive the M45 but didn't bother since they are adding 2 grand for Market Adjustment. What kind of c$#@ is that? Infinit of Scottsdale has about 15 without the markup. I may have to make the drive to buy my next Infiniti.

Just found out that Japanese Fuga (M45 here) has five different interior trim options vs. two (aluminum & rosewood) in US. And one of them is this called "Japanese Modern" with glossy black trims that were present in Fuga concept. Simply beautiful!

You gotta visit San Jose, CA sometime! I know, I know, it is a long drive from Florida! , but here is why!

I have sorta posted the same to you before too ... see my previous post here (about 3 posts down!)

I HAVE THE 2003M45 AND VISITED MY DEALER FOR THE VIEWING OF THE NEW M45. IT'S SORT OF LIKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND GETTING A BREAST REDUCTION. HOW COULD THEY DO THAT TO A BEAUTIFUL CAR. THIS IS NOT A NEW M45 BUT A NEW G35. IN MY VIEW THE M45 IS GONE! SOME CHANGES ARE WRONG LIKE THE MOVEMENT OF THE TRUNK RELEASE FROM THE DOOR HANDLE, THE RIDGID REAR VIEW MIRRORS ETC ETC. THE ONLY GOOD PART IS THAT MY 2003 M45 WILL REMAIN SPECIAL!
