I would take off the spare tire only on track days. A spare tire could save you some money from the tow truck. And if you really want weight reduction. Get, gut it out! Take out all the plastic, passenger seat, door panels, center console, overhead uphostery, a & b pillar cosmetics, rear strut tower cosmetics, carpet, speaker housing/glove box, front dash, and replace steering wheel. Your z will look like it got robbed! Not a pretty picture unless its a track car.Weight vs. Comfort and looks.

its hard for a z to loose weight, i mean even if you took off everything inside the z it's still heavy, my suggestion for you would to go carbon, thats really the only way.

Before I go to a track and race I sit on the toilet for 15 minutes followed by running around my house over and over, then I eat some nice healthy carrots.

CF hood isn't going to save you any weight. I don't drive the Z to often and I would probably consider taking out the spare tire.

I've heard the cheaper CF won't save you any weight, as it's mostly just a CF look alike.

stock hood is aluminum, cf hoods use fiberglass frames which weigh more than the stock aluminum one
