Dont care, and not just because I drove it plenty of times.

-It's the least cost effective track (in terms of Euro per lap) in the country.
-They dont separate bikes from cars, so just about every lap you take you're getting ruined by packs of bikers.
-You learn very little from driving such a huge track.
-They dont have paddock space for you to unload your car/change tires and will yell at you if you try to do it in the parking lot.
-After driving Hockenheim/Spa, I really felt like I was wasting my time at Nordschleife.
-A bunch of people "liking" a FB page isn't going to do anything.

The place is nice and everything, but the mystique (if you're someone who is nuts about the place) wears off very quickly. Put simply, I had more fun my first day driving Summit Point Main than I did all my experiences at Nordschleife combined. There are plenty of amazing race tracks for folks in the United States that I promise will promote a much better atmosphere for racing than Nordschleife.

I suppose the Nordshleife is one of those places that you want to do more so because of its history and fame. I wouldn;t mind trying it someday, but it's not a priority to me. There are so many other great tracks just in this country.

Most definitely. I'd rather spend a day at Infineon than the Nord.

Honestly, it seems they screwed themselves massively and nearly irreparable. When they say that Nurburg is a ghost town most of the time, that's an understatement. I've been to the area more times than I can count and outside of GP's (which take place on a different track or alternate with Hockenheim), Nordschleife is only busy on a few Sundays a year. Privatizing is a perfect answer, as it now makes a company the fall guy instead of local government. The crap is going to hit the fan bigtime, may as well try to soften the blow on public money.

People that tell me they are going to "Nurburgring", I often suggest saving their money or, if they insist on going overseas, I suggest Spa, Hockenheim or the actual Nurburgring instead.
