'thrashy' oh man, one of my relatives rented a Cavalier sedan in new mexico and we drove in it to colorado from there. thrashy is the best word choice. you mash the throttle and the engine sounded like it was going to BLOW UP or something bad. but that was the older Cavalier (97-era)
anyhow. as far as the Ion goes, i don't know why the Saturn commericials are making such a point out of its styling. i think it's pretty non-descript. those rims are really bizarre too. although i really like the commercial w/ the people driving around in cardboard boxes. instead of the Ion pulling around the corner and everyone staring, it should've been the Maxima in SE trim. now *that's* a sedan
but i digress
i agree with madscientist, the old skool SC2' coupes were pretty decent stock, very rough around the edges though. and the performance Saturns' they're preposing are probably going to me domesti-rice i bet, w/ no actual perf. gains.
