I just got my car a few weeks ago. I am having trouble with the satellite radio. I can only get like 10(ish) stations. I know that Sirius has way more channels that that. Anyone know what im doing wrong? Ive looked in my manual and cant find what the hell is going on. Thanks.

lol, you have to subscribe to get all the channels! there should be an info chanel that plays a repeating statement to that effect, they give you a teaser of a few channels for a while to get you to sign on, my XM gave me a rotating bunch of channels for about 3 months then cut off completely, I later signed up and love it, xm of course just bought sirius so any plan you get will be honored but the channels might change, I no longer listen to air channels

And, if you've already subscribed and are having this problem, you need to have the signal refreshed. I know with XM you can log into their website and do this.

XM didnt buy Sirius. They are trying to merge into one company and the Government is taking their time making a decision.

financially fit companies don't just merge with one another for no reason, and I personally think the stern deal kinda screwed sirius

http://www.space.com/spacenews....htmlXM and Sirius Consider Merger

By Peter B. de SeldingSpace News Staff Writer

PARIS—The two big U.S. satellite-radio companies, XM and Sirius, reported sharply contrasting performance in 2006 but agree that a merger would result in substantial cost savings and might even pass muster with U.S. regulators.

..........."Would we be a buyer or a seller? Neither," Parsons said of how a merger might be structured. "It more likely would be a merger with a 'Best Of' combination. The Department of Justice would conclude that there is a broader, addressable market – a large number of audio entertainment opportunities. It would not be a piece of cake, but if you did something like that would have a favorable regulatory market in which to approach it. But all these are hypothetical."

love the way they candy cote it, much like when "chrystler bought diahmler" bottom line only 1 ceo will have a job as the end of the day, the financial world is full if these kind of understated transactions

How do you figure? Stern brought in millions of new subsribers. What actually screwed Sirius, among other things, is their cost of getting people hooked up.

so the cost of the sirius radio option was $350? then yes, now you have to subsctibe to get the channels, about $13 a month at least thats what XM is up to for the first reciever, each additional reciever is like $6

think of it this way, you can buy a cable ready tv but unless you pay the cable company your not gonna get any channels!

on the stern thing, thats neither here nor there and way OT but, personally I'm kinda tired of him, it's just mroe of the same, it was fun for a while but got old, and his deal with sirius was HUGE! and yes he brought them listeners, how many of the 6 million did he bring? and at how many dollars per subscriber just to pay stern? I think they had hopes or many times more subscribers for the price

stern deal is 5 years 500 million, so thats 100 million a year, sirius subscrition numbers are a matter of great controversey and somewhere between 3 and 6 millioon, so it costs sirius between $15-30 per susscriber just to pay stern? and you don't think his deal hurt sirius?

sorry for way ot but I find his deal to be exceptionally greedy, nothing wrogn with some greed, and the man knows how to draw a crowd but at some point you have to stop and do the math
