I bought a 2006 Murano SL, Platinum, in January. Asked the salesman what "pre-wired for satellite radio" meant and was told I just had to get a subscription to either XM or Sirius. Now that I know that information was not correct, I wanted to ask if anyone has had the satellite radio module installed anywhere other than a Nissan dealer? I was told by the Nissan dealership if I did it would void the warranty on my radio.

This was my first Nissan, and based on customer service, will be my last. But for now, can anyone help me out?

yeah...save yourself the time money and aggravation...do it yourself...go to grubbsperformance.com and order the receiver (part #999U9) and antenna (part #XM2K)....then go to nissanmurano.org and check out the pics on how to install...it is plug and play....plug the receiver into the existing harness located under the rear passenger seat on the drivers side (side opposite the Bose amp- which is under the right side rear passenger seat)....then run your antenna up to the thrid brake light hatch and stick in there for a hidden install....I'm doing mine tonight...its real easy and the receiver is only $194 and the antenna is ~$35....much less than dealer or audio shop install!!!

Having the same problem in Canada. Dealer doesn't even knowwhether the car is prewired or not but at time of sale was advised all we need to do is hook up with XM and we're off, but this isn' t the case. My sales rep told me recently that they haven't installed any satellite radios in their cars, definitely not a good sign. This is one expensive car, SE AWD etc. I'd be extremely disappointed if this thing isn't pre-wired. Still trying to find out.
