I think my rear window is glued in and not gasketted, anyone install XM or Sirius in a late model 240sx here?

I would prefer to go under the glass instead of through the trunk.

You can put it on the rear deck so it can get signal through the window. I have even put them under the deck material (on mustangs) and it worked ok. Metallized window tint will affect reception. The antenna will work better if there is metal under it. It will work the best on the roof.<-- XM & Sirius dealer.

That would be best if it doesn't give me crappy reception. It'd not have any metal on metal contact though on my rear tray unless I cut it.

I will tint my car though and go with anti-UV tint...don't know how that affects this.

It does not need to have metal contact below it. Most automotive window film blocks 99% UV but higher end films have metal content which blocks more heat but also blocks/affects RF.

I ran mine down under the center console, the carpet, rear seats and paneling. Zip tied it up to the underside of the rear deck, and out the trunk right in the middle of the back window at the bottom. Works great and is really not that noticeable, which I like the most about the location.

Got it done today...mounted the 'brain' under the passenger seat, there is a hole already in the carpet to pass the wires through. I then ran the main cable down under the console. The antenna I stuck under the rear deck right in front of the rear glass between the speaker opening. I dont have rear speakers so if antenna quality is down I will make a 6.5" plate and mount it beneath a grill.

Went in easy...my new deck though needs a dash kit , my old excelon KDC-X859 did not and was nice and flush. The thing died last week though.
