Hello all,
I am a new owner of a 2006 M35x. the car has nav 14 speaker bose and sat radio (found in the trunk all wires/antenna connected).I have searched the forum and google and still need help.
The problem is that when I press the radio button to get to the sat setting all the I get is "acquiring" on the display.
I have removed the tuner to get the sirius ID number then reinstalled (added m35 to my sirius subscription). I have called xm/sirius and gone through the troubleshooting steps and was told to take it to a dealer (closest one is 2.5 hours away). I also connected a different antenna to the tuner to check for a bad roof/fin antenna. When the antenna is disconnected the display reads antenna error.
What else do I need to check?
I there a place I can send my tuner to to have it checked and/or repared?
If I replace the tuner should I go with the same P/N or can I use any infiniti tuner?
Thanks for the help.

I would use the same P/N. Not sure as to what the issue could be though.

I found the same P/N on ebay. I hate to throw parts at the problem but if I have power, known good antenna next step replace tuner. Not the best trouble shooting but it is what I have.
I am open to any other ideas.

The way to get your tuner number is to tune the XM to channel "0" and the screen should display it. (that's how I found mine on my 2007 and 2009) No idea why you cannot get reception. Mine has gone out for 1-2 seconds whilst driving about, but that is very rare.

Non of buttons or knobs do anything satellite radio related. I can get to am/fm but nothing else. I can see part of a zero under the "acquiring" but nothing more.

I installed the used tuner and right away I could read the radio ID in the display. I switched the subscription to the new tuner abd I new have sat radio. the signal did act up a little bit but I think it it is where I was parked. I did test the used tuner plugged and not mounted and it worked fine driving around town,
Thanks for the help and info.

I may have spoke to soon. So at random times the Sat radio will not work some times it is looking for a signal and other times It acts like the tuner has not output (no sound and no station info on the display). but if the the car sits or I change from AM/FM back to Sat it will work some times.
I am not sure what to do next any ideas???
Thanks

I too have been having problems with my satellite signal since I renewed my subscription with XM. It seems as if the antenna does a poor job of picking up the signal in many areas, even when it's clear blue skies. I live in San Antonio where it gets crazy hot for months out of the year. I'm wondering if the heat has degraded the antenna itself
