I've got someone here that's selling the sard adj fpr locally. Has anyone have any experience with this fpr? Or should I wait and order the Nismo TypeA fpr? btw, it's for a s1 rb25det.

Depends on how much hp you honestly want out of the setup. For 99% of people, the Nismo unit works great.

I have a SX boost sensitive FPR, I wish I would of went with the Nismo, for simplicity.

No stupid AN lines, just rubber ho's and clamps.

as soon as you upgrade your fuel pump you should go to a bigger, adjustable FPR.

my nismo one has been great.

Yeah, when I installed my Walbro, my fuel pressure went up.

I installed a Nismo FPR, turned down the pressure to factory spec, and the car ran better.

Ever-so-slightly OT, but what does the FPCM (fuel pump control module, iirc pin 104 on RB20 ECU) do?

From my reading, it seems to adjusts the voltage to the pump at idle and low-load to preserve the pump life. I would expect that this also produces lower fuel pressure at idle/low load? Does this partially explain why FPRs are needed with the upgrade Walbro pumps?

Anyone actually wire in the FPCM into their RB S-Chassis?

the module is in there to reduce noise in cabin...nothing more really.and yes underruning the pump will allow for less fuel consumption but some pumps dont like to be underrun, feed 12v to a gtr pump and its actualy happier than it was in std trim.

there are too many connections for possibility of leaks, nothing beats "bolt on" to your fuel rail.

Sard is universal, there are 3 connections on the fpr, there are more conncetion when you route the fuel line to the fuel rail (make/model specific fitting)

no thanks

I hate those nismo FPR's freakin pieces of crap....Sard is hardly any better, Sard and Nismo make alot of other things alot better than their FPR's

If you want a proper and correctly setup Fuel pressure regulator, get an Aeromotive FPR and get the earls fittings and lines for it, and also get the liquid filled gauge. You get what you pay for and nothing i've seen beats the aeromotive unit.

sorry for jacking this thread but what FPR do you think would be best for around 400whp? Nismo, Sard or Aeromotive?

+1 for sard or nismo and aeromotive. for low hp, nismo is fast, simple, cheapest fpr. Direct bolt on makes it a 5 minute install.

Sard is better for higher hp settings. I have used the sard regulator on 3 or so 400-500 hp sr's and they work beautifully. As for comment about more connections to leak. This is true, but not a problem at all unless you don't know how to properly tighten npt or an fitting. Sard also has hose nipples that allow you to use rubber hose, if you don't feel like making steel braided fuel lines.

Aeromotive is all around a good, and is capable of the highest hp. They have styles to allow for -6 -8 -10 hose. I haven't used one personally but have heard great things from friends
