Calling the kettle black "In an ironic twist during the speech, Ms. Palin worked in a jab against President Obama's often-mocked use of TelePrompTers."Another point raised was the double standard for the use of the r-word. I don't buy her justification as to why or why not one should be allowed to use the r word. Pretty weak reasoning that as long as the word is used satirically, then it is acceptable.

So writing a few single points on ones hand is the same as reading a speech from a teleprompter?

The reason Obama gets so much hell for using a Teleprompter is because he uses it in every function. He even uses it to talk to 3rd graders. I mean get real. None of the stuff comes out of his head it is premeditated and put down on paper to eliminate screw-ups.

I don't see anything wrong with this and if Obama put notes on his palm and spoke from those points I would defend him in that too even know I really dislike his agenda.

"Palm-Gate" Get real.

I don't thnk it's a big deal. A bigger deal was screning all the questions ahead of time and giving them to her. Then making it appear as if it really was an unrehearsed question and answer period.

Even that is not much of an issue.

As much as I don't like her, I completely agree with you. Obama reads his entire speech, so what if she has a few key words written on her hand to remind her of things. I just really wanted to make a title with hand job and Sarah Palin in it.

Any thoughts on the r-word?

I have a roommate who is majoring in special education and there was quite an uproar when the WH used it, following with a fair amount of support for Palin when she scolded the WH within the education department. However, she lost all of that support as she tried to justify Limbaughs use of the word.

I'd actually say it's because once the discussion leaves the realm of the teleprompter PBO shows how far in over his head he actually is.

Just think about his foot-in-mouth, mistrial inducing comment about a guilty verdict in the upcoming terrorism trials before the groundwork has even been put in place.

Dude are you f#$%&*g kidding me? You created a new topic on how Palin put a few KEY SUBJECTS on her hand? Now you're really reaching for dirt. That's all she had! She didn't have any other notes or electronic help. This is total radical liberalism at its finest. If anything I'm proud of her for only having a few topics written down opposed to a full speech in front of her. I'd like to see you tackle that, and do it well.

My favorite. Here she is again 47 seconds into this video:http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetw....html

I'd rather see a perfectly prepared speech given from a teleprompter rather that seeing someone write chicken scratch on their hand and attempt to play it off as if no one will notice. Palin 2012!

Really?

Interesting that you'd think someone's trying to "play something off", when I (and all of America) could CLEARLY see ink on her palm several times during her speech.

Methinks your own shortcomings in life are weaseling their way out in the form of displaced anger (and maybe a little jealousy).

At least people show up to hear what SHE has to say.

Wait a minute.

If you have to actually write these things down to remember them, something is wrong.

If she was not on the teleprompter bandwagon it would be excusable but she is, so I expect and demand consistency.

And scribbling on your hand, what is this third grade?

She probably got through college by writing cheat notes on her hand and just think....people paid $500 to see this. They should request a refund since she didn't know and study the material. WOW...If she can't remember a few key talking points like energy, taxes, etc.... She is in serious trouble. She has already proven that she is unprepared and incompetent, but the best part is that there is so much more to come from her and I can't wait to see her make a bigger fool out of herself SNL and Tina Fey are licking their chops right about..........NOW

Dude...

Would you PLEASE learn to think for yourself. The reason our country is a F'n mess is because stupid people blindly accept whatever words come from their chosen political party. You're obviously a Liberal and that's fine. The world needs Libbies to to off set the hard core right wing nut bags. However, what we don't need are more people pulling the party line just for the sake of the party.

If you want things to get better, think for yourself. Stop hating everything that isn't Liberal just because it isn't Liberal. That's the only way this country is ever going to dig itself out of the whole.

We need to collect ourselves as a Nation and demand that our leaders unf*** themselves immediately. We are getting NOTHING done...nothing. Who's fault is that? EVERYONE IN OFFICE RIGHT NOW that's who. I don't mean the Obama admin either, I mean every single person holding an elected chair. Collectively they have screwed the people of this country over and over and over.

So pop your head out buddy, think for yourself and lets get some real change accomplished

I thought the incident was rather amusing at first, but it's actually a bit disturbing.

A few thoughts.

It seems a bit distrubing that she needs crib notes to remember her core principles when asked about them.

This was not Meet the Press/Face the Nation. This was a friendly audience. It does not appear she used her "palm" notes for her speech, but was used during the Q&A. So it seems probable that the Q&A was staged and she knew all the questions in advance. That makes me wonder why she would need a cheat sheet to answer pre arranged questions.

I don;t see the incident as earth shattering, and I don;t see it changing anyones opinion of her.

When you get before an audience your mind goes blank. Anyone who has been in that position knows this.

The notes on her hand is a but strange I must admit but is it srsly that big of a deal?

Liberal..........Liberal.......Liberal

....and once again it turns into who is Liberal. Try something else in the future if you want to move your point. Calling someone liberal out of anger and frustration is weak. SAD SAD SAD. I'm amzed that you actually used the word three times in one post.

Now, back to Sarah Palin

sure...why not? If he didn't post it, I would've or someone would've. This thread has more hits and reponses than some of the other topics created here Plus, its all in good fun, so calm down because next week it'll be something new.

It's not an accusation, it's a theory, and a plausible one considering the venue she was at, plus the recent revelations about her in the Halperin/Heileman book

That's not name calling or meant to be slanderous it's an observation about your personality. You appear close minded and dense to any idea that doesn't align itself with your current Political party choice.

That's called blind following and it's how the two most powerful parties on the planet have come to stay in power as long as they have.

Once everyone realizes this, we can all move on and elect a Gov that is truly "for the people".

I meant no offense.

I get a kick out of all the libbies attacking someone who has NO power, when their beloved Messiah-In-Chief is screwing up faster than we can write about it, and can't even get his own Administration to back him.

Sarah can be a doofus all she wants - She's not running the country.

Now, about all this hopey-changey bull****.....

Gibbs is frustrated and acting out as a way to deflect real questions about the POTUS and his ever-changing policy. His job must be tough as he is now getting hard questions from some of the other news agencies and can't come up with viable excuses anymore nor simply dismiss the question as being from Fox News.

ahhhhh yes.... the Family Guy episode! She knows how to pick her battles. That was just another foot in the mouth chapter by Sarah Palin, especially when the actual actress who has down syndrome (andrea friedman) played the part and had some real choice words for Palin after her Fox rant.

"She wants more votes.....Don’t treat trig like a loaf of bread..Lighten Up.." - Andrea Fay Freidman
