I saw this on slickdeals and jumped on it.
http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread ... &t=3114740

I picked up an i5-2500k and Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 for $315 after tax, plus there's a $15 MIR. Newegg and Tiger have that combo at $389

With the money I saved, I bought this on sale for $75
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231468

So all together $375. This will replace my Phenom 9950, Asus M3A-78t, and 4GB of DDR2 1066. I haven't used for over a year due to the mobo dying and then leaving for the military for 10mo. I also have a 96GB Kingston SSD I picked up for $95. Combined I should notice an improvement.

...Now I just need to find my 4870 that got packed up. I don't want to have to buy another vid card.
