so I was just thinking Nico has a "drift" forum, which best I can tell is all about street drifting as opposed to Drifting competitions held by legitimate sanctioning bodies, and there is no real place for Autocross, Drag Racing or Road Racing, just wondering does no-one here participate in legal sanctioned racing? or just not enough of us to matter ?

I have run in the New Englan Hill Climb racing organization once. There is another member here who is a pretty avid racer in the same group, but I don't think he owns a Nissan anymore.

It's basically up-hill paved rally racing!

I also joined an auto-x club in Maine before I moved back to Vermont. I never got to race before moving though.

I do. But we can pretty much discuss any and all of that in general chat or in the specific chats for our cars I'd imagine. Plus its winter here So no auto-x or road course for quite awhile.

I did until I lost my license

I'll be getting back into auto-x as soon as I get it back, and I'm looking foreward to getting into road racing as soon as my car is sorted enough that I feel it wont die on me.

I think we basically have a drift forum to keep all the kids that have a new "I drifted into a curb" story every day, in one place. We have quite a few members who participate in sanctioned drifting, auto-x, and road course events.

I would, but since I didn't exactly pay for the car, or my insurance, or even basic maintenance and gas... (yeah, I'm a lucky mofo) well, it doesn't float too well with those who do. Although I'd gladly shoulder the licensing costs and any extra maintenance/insurance/gas/etc costs if I was allowed to...

Anyways, a pretty good number of people (mostly 240 owners) do AutoX and small drift events, a few others do other forms.

The idea of a motorsports forum was discussed but it was decided against for the time being based upon the fact that the VAST majority of chat emphasis is on drifting (most of it illegal, so really it was clearing out the Gen. sections of that crap).

it's winter here as well, I was just wondering what kind of ravers we had here, I mostly stick to the Z forums, there si just so mcny ways to be involved in motorsports in a fully legal way and I havn't noticed much mention of sanctioned events, nissn has a lot of cars that are competetive in so many types of racing just seems some people are missing out, and if more would get involved in legal racing it might makes the streets a bit safer

I had brought this up to the mods/admins about 6 months ago and it was decided to not make a racing specific forum.

I personally think we should have one, but I am only one opinion.

Well I do SCCA club race and I wouldn't mind seeing a place for it. I have seen others here with interest in sanctioned car racing and myself and I am sure others could help people get started with a local club.
