So i installed an Apexi Multichecker. Wonderful tool. Anyway. When i rev the car to about 4krpms it shows 20-30btc, as i'm revving. I'm not quite sure if this is good or bad, if anyone has some insight on this it would be much appreciated. Also, at idle is shows my A/F ratio to be around 11-12. When i rev it out to about the same point it goes up to around 14. I'm not really sure what all this means because i've never really dealt with engines this much in depth. So if anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi i got myself a mulithchecker too ! But before helping i need to ask you a question.. ? did you have problem starting the car whne your multichecker is pluggued?

mine is giving crank angle sensor fault code when connected BEFORE starting the car... its kinda a pain in the ***..

prior to startthe car i need to

-switch off the 12 volt from the multimeter ...-connect the white plug for the mulitchecker-start the car (but the car is running in limp mode bad idle /2500 rpm MAX)-switch on my multichecker ... and after that my car is working nice... I dont know if its a incompatibility with my UK Pre-cat ECU or my wiring.. anyway

today gonna try what you did and tell you my stat on my engine :)

I have no experience with the Multichecker but from a purely mathematical perspective, it sounds like your timing is strongly retarding as your A/F ratio goes lean* under boost. Without any more information, and assuming the multichecker data is trustworthy, I'd say your engine is detecting knock as a result of the semi-lean condition and pulling timing as a result.

Is the engine stock? If not, what mods are on it?

*Not technically lean, as lean would be anything over 14.7. For a car under boost though I would suggest anything over 12 .5 is too lean on a stock car.

F3600:i dunno what's wrong. my multichecker works without any problems or conflicts at all, and i soldered all my connections.

redamnavit:the car is completely stock. i had a bov on it at one point but i took it off thinking that maybe it was leaking really bad and causing part of my problem... it wasn't. my engine does shake a decent bit because my motor mounts are pretty hit. do you think the excessive shaking could be setting off the knock sensor?

Hey I just checked the info on my multichecker

my timing as climbed from 15 to 41 Deg from 800 rpm to 4000 (on neutral)my Air-Fuel was at 12 ,13 ,14 On neutral

In gears the timing was the same but my air fuel was going downside like from 12.5 11 10 while the boost came along.

hope this help
