salvage title/ inspection question

can someone give me a general description of what an inspection consists of? what do they look for? mt car was rear ended and my frame rails are bent but you can't notice them because of the muffler hides where its bent. I'm wondering if i can pass

Depends on your state. Are you looking to get a 'rebuilt' title?

well I'm in connecticut. and thats the thing. i don't even know where to start for this. i guess a rebuilt title would be what id be going for but I'm hoping to pass without dealing with the frame rails. if i pass the inspection then ill have them fixed. i just don't wanna do all the work and put money in to it if its not gonna pass no matter what :/

Contact your local MVD. They'll answer your questions, and then come back and let us know what you found out. I'm curious to find out as well.

well i called.. they wouldn't give me much information on it. they said that the inspection deals with what was wrong with the car, why it has a salvaged title. then they will search that area of the car for any problems. and then they will chck all the other small stuff such as lights and signals and tires and all that.
