The day finally came to say goodbye to my Q. She was a faithful old gal at the ripe age of 20 exactly {production date 11/95} For 314,516 miles we had quite the run together, and I still felt that special feeling driving her even after all those miles! Still ran like a bat out of hell, but the rust was eating into the drivers side frame rail bad enough that I was concerned if I was ever in an bad accident, the car would not provide the structural integrity as designed. That, and a few other issues {needed new exhaust soon, steering hose slow leak, and leaking heater core} was enough to realize it was time to put her to rest.I kept the large titanium key, which for now will remain on my key ring as a reminder of our fun times.

May decide to sell my full size factory service manual, vhs q45 intro tape, and coffee table book if anyone really wants them.

Even more odd, it looks like you joined NICO exactly 13 years ago!

I'm sorry to see her go. What's going to replace her?

Wow Heath,I did not even realize that! How shocking is that! Not sure what will eventually replace the Q,we have a Highlander that I will start driving daily and see how I adapt to {never really been a fan of SUVs,despite their obvious dominance in the marketplace}. Really would love a Audi A8L,but not sure I trust the reliability enough to ever actually buy one,and part of me thinks go Green and get a hybrid of some sort,or at least a very fuel efficient vehicle with low maintenance needs {opposite ends of the spectrum,I know}. Having moved to a condominium has ended hand washing/detailing in the driveway,so automated carwashes are the reality for me now,so not sure I want to buy something I will want to baby like I did with the Q.

Interesting.... does this mean that we will get more helpful replies from you now as opposed to your cynical ones that some of us have had to endure over the years?

This board is a blessing and you, wiggler, should realize us newbies here on NICO need to show some respect to those who have helped us fix our Q's and saved us serious money in repairs, and we don't pay S@%# for it, the lease you can do is stay quiet if you don't appreciate good advice/help.

Cheers on the end of an era... it's really a shame that corrosion has the effect that it does to these old Qs.. Seems like the mechanicals far out last the frame... My Q is coming near the end of it's life, the rust is getting a bit out of control, which is sad because it runs fantastic.

We definitely appreciate your contributions to the forum. Did you ever end up doing anything with the leaking heater core you had?

The leaking heater core was fixed for awhile with the Barrs Leak product, but it did not last very long- I never really investigated it,but it could have been the core leaking or maybe even one of the hoses connected to it.Really did not bother me that much,as we really only have a few months of really cold weather here, and with the heated seats,it was not that bad, especially when driven during the day when the sun contributed to keeping the car warm. The frame rail rust was just creating a unsafe condition that made fixing that and anything else that would have popped up in the future a unwise financial move.Sad to see her go,but it was the right time unfortunately.

Duly noted, I think I've also help some individuals as much as I can in my short time here, and I also know OTHER senior members who have been helpful to me, some of them even going to the extent of giving me their personal emails, so I KNOW who my respect goes to. I'm sure this individual is extremely knowledgeable, but the other senior members thankfully don't project arrogance, which to me clouds any merit implied.
That being said, it is mildly unfortunate that he is being forced to part ways with his automobile.
I'd be interested in viewing your website mentioned in another thread once you have it completed.

creating a online store from scratch in using Adobe CS6 Master Collection is kinda time consuming considering that I have alot of "ooohh" and "aaaahhh" products lined up for other infiniti's also such as a eau Rogue body kit for the Q50 and another that looks like the unreleased Q80ish for the G37 as well as ride height adjustable suspension in which you can also adjust the dampening and a bunch of stuff....gonna name it

May she rest in peace. My highest mileage Q was a 93, with 312,000. I sold it to an inner city guy who said it would be the best car on the block!.

Got a bunch of them. Email me. You, Wes and PHRoberterts get first dibs. I don't think Dennis needs any.

Also, I have a new never used Jeff Williams FSTB also.

Other stuff too.

And good decision getting rid of a rusty car. Never does one know how much safety margin is left.

Basically down to one part out because I don't want to do body repair. Ex-wife traded the FGY33 on a G37 (not even an S for the LSD!) :tisk:

Good luck on your new choice. I feel I need an electric in town and a GT on the road. I have the GT and gas is cheap and the nearby toll road limits at 85 mph.
