Every A33 I've ever been in seems to do this: when you open the driver's side door, it seems to sag slightly as it opens, like the hinges aren't supporting it quite properly. Is there a solution to this problem or are they all just like that?

Never had this problem... Do you lean on the door, or use it to help yourself into or out of the car? I don't think there is an easy adjustment, but you can adjust it by loosening (sp?) the hinges, and adjusting them. You will need a pneumatic driver to loosen and tighten the hinges, and the doors are heavy and very difficult to adjust. You can also have a local body shop do it. Should cost about $100.

Maybe it's only on the I30s...I've never actually been in an A33 Max. I don't lean on the door and it was like that when I got the car. It doesn't really concern me though, just more of an observation. Not something I would pay to have fixed.

The only difference between your car and mine is:Front Clip... front fenders, grille, bumper.Hood.Trim and accessory package.Other than that, they're the exact same car.

As the former owner of multiple camaro's, I can tell you that heavy doors have a greater chance of the hinges wearing out. I've been in numerous A33 Maximas, and have never felt one that would be heavy enough (on it's own) to cause a hinge failure.

That being said, I have a 93 G20 that has a bad door hinge. I know the car has been damaged on that side (near the rear of the door); so I gather that my hinge failure was most likely caused by damage to the door area.

Yeah, my Coupe DeVille's doors sagged like crazy, but they were LONG and heavy.

I had the same problem with my 01 maxima as well. The problem is not just the door seems to sag when open, the door itself just doesn't fit that well overall to begin with. Especially since my front driver side door was rubbing on the weather strip as it closes and open, that made it difficult to close it with "light" touch. The solution seems to be lofting the door a little bit to clear way for the weather strip and compensate for the sag.

What does that cost? And can I do it myself easily?

Shouldn't be too difficult. If you've got a haynes manual they show you how to do it. Pretty straightforward to do.

I have the same problem with my 96 I30 .... I checked the hinges and found that the lower hinge center pin bushing is wallowed out and needs to be replaced... the door just drops down slightly when open and when I close the door has to rise up to close. thanksBishopXM

That's exactly what mine does. Do you know if you can just get the bushings themselves or do I have to replace the whole hinge? And can someone who's done this post a quick how-to?
