I got a notice for a safety recall today.

No it is not the TPMS but the seat belt tension sensor wire harness. Sounds like in the early production Versas, these have been or may have been damaged during assembly.

Yeah, in Canada, we should get the recall a little bit later than yours. But, the problem may only apply to the american models also. We'll have to see.

We already had this fixed. I wonder if we will get a recall letter.

DANGGGGGGGG min is within that time frame.......grr

so what would happen if I don't go through with the recall? i mean...ive been okay for a year I guess. Well a better related question would be like, "Is this recall as important as the transmission oil cap thingy?"hmm

Well, a good starting place to answering your question would be reading the safety recall as posted in this thread. There it says that a connector in your car may have been damaged while your car was being manufactured that would stop the passenger side air bag from deploying properly if you're in a accident.

In this year that you've "been okay" have your airbags deployed? If not then you might not really have any relevance to say if you've been okay for a year.

So yeah, if you're car is effected by the recall you might want to see about having it fixed. Nissan should mail you a letter if your car is part of the recall with a little card to take into your dealer.

GEEZ...I did read it and understood perfectly, but I'm just saying I mean, someone dropped a bowling ball on my front right fender while i was getting out of my driveway and the right passenger seat bag deployed, so I'm not sure as to WHICH bag is the one being recalled if not all of them. So thanks anyways

and it's not the airbag, but instead the tensioner on the seatbelt which has a sensor that directly relays information to the front airbag (in the dash).

Got mine today, haven't noticed a problem, but i'm brining it in anyway. See if they can do something about the AC compressor noise too..

Got mine back today. I'm all taken care of. Took them about 1.5 hours to complete. Wasn't able to talk to a tech to see what all had to be removed and/or replaced. Those bastards left a bunch of dirt/sand in my rear seat though. Can't wait for the service/comment card to arrive in the mail!
