Hi all,

I have my 2014 infiniti q70 with an uprev tune and received an email to do a software update to disable 2g In the vehicle at my local dealer. Will this update clear the tune parameters? I don’t subscribe to Infiniti connect so I don’t think this affects me. Anyone have info on what this will do to the tune

I don't have Uprev but to my understanding is that you can flash back to stock, go for the update and then flash back to the tune

Yep, do what J said. Flash back to stock, upgrade and then reflash the tune. If you don't have possession of your cable or the software than that's different, not sure if your tuner will charge to do that.

What exactly is this for? Is there certain year model or package that this pertains to?

I copied this from the Infiniti Help Forum.

ITB17-041 Voluntary Service Campaign
VARIOUS INFINITI MODELS; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN 2G TELEMATICS HARDWARE DEACTIVATION
Infiniti is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign (in the U.S. ONLY) on certain specific 2013-2016 Infiniti vehicles equipped with 2G Telematics Hardware to disable the 2G Telematics Control Unit (TCU). The 2G cellular service is no longer active in the United States and the subject TCUs are no longer connected to telematics services (Infiniti ConnectTM) and no longer perform any function in the affected vehicles. This campaign is being performed out of abundance of caution to help prevent potential cybersecurity issues.
