09 Murano- does anyone else feel like they are in safety jail? I can't search my Nav system, choose an artist from the Music Box, or do a myriad of other things unless the vehicle is COMPLETELY STOPPED! Other makes boast of being able to actually USE the options they pay for, while we sit on our hands. Many other options are unavailable unless you have the Canadian model!! Why do they get to "risk it", while we suffer at the hands of the safety police??Features were a major factor in choosing this vehicle. I find it tough to recommend the Murano over other makes. Whay say Ye?

Welcome to the USA where soon it will be against the law to talk on a bluetooth phone while driving in a car....

tbachli,Go down several threads and read the one labeled "Entertainment system in 2009 Murano LE." There are also other posts that reference the same topic.

Bottom line, there is a fairly simple mod that you can perform to your Mo that with a flip of a switch you can have "FULL" control of "ALL" audio, nav and video selections/ops while the car is moving. Every bit of "know-how" / "how-to" is within this forum and posts.

Time to play

Welcome

yup, welcome to the USA where you are not accountable for your own actions...someone could blame Nissan for the fact that they were fiddling with their nav system while driving and that it caused them to get into an accident.

its a shame that the idiocy of a few ruins the enjoyment for all...

Good call, Smitty. I just did the mod on the Mo, and as you said, it eliminated the issue of being in safety jail. All features work while in motion. The only thing I'm missing now is the Canadian version of the voice commands, which is not nearly as big of a deal. I guess I'll keep it! Thanks again for passing on the info, and if I may, I'll plug Shane at http://www.tintmasters.net one more time!
