Safety Button on Ignition to Remove Key

Hello everyone, this post is in regards to the button you push to release the key from the ignition. I just installed my greddy full auto timer last night, the work was done to a T and it is opporating great. Now my problem is when I go to park and the timer is counting down I cant get the key out of the ignition until the car turns completely off. Can anyone tell me how to disconnect that safety button or maybe bypass it.
