Its not a bolt on mod, its a hack/weld cast iron together mod. Its been done and works. Pain to weld though.

What are your suggestions manifold wise? I was considering JGS but it seems a little pricey and Idk, I might want a t2 turbo.

Decide first on the size of turbo you want according to your HP goals. From what I've learned here so far, the T25 is the way to go if your HP goals are under 250. But if you eventually want to get to 300+Hp (with proper tuning of course), go with the T3/T4. For the T25, many people use the ebay bottom mount manifolds and they do ok. For the top mount I really recommend JGS and you'll have no worries. But if you buy a cheap top mount, make sure you reinforce it at a local machine shop and put a flex pipe on your j-pipe or it will crack for sure.

I think either setup will make you happy at 7psi because the power increase is awesome. I'm not sure if there is a horsepower difference between the two setups at that low level of boost. Anyone care to chime in on this?

An SR T25 on a KA is like a heat pump after you raise the boost levels.

Even at only 7-8lbs? I probably don't plan on going any higher than that with the sohc. Should tide me over for a few years. If I do want any more, I was just thinking a swap.

Oh omt, what is the stock boost on the sr t25? Is it 7lbs?

A t25 is good till about 10-12 psi. Anything more than that and its a detonation cannon.

You might as well go with a T3/T4 now and run low boost levels. Sure an Ebay T2 mani will be cheap with a used SR T25, but when you want more power from a turbo with a T2 flange, they are gonna be pretty expensive. Gt28 series are pretty expensive, no matter who you get them from. You can generally find T3 flanged turbos for relatively cheap. My friend TIGed up the flange for Holsets and had a lot of fun with his H1C, HY35, and HX50 (I think). He got the three of them for under 400 bucks off of a couple Cumins and whichever else he picked them from.
