I've seen what the SR20DEt is capable of. ( who hasn't, it's in every other page of every other import magazine out there ).

But I was wondering what kind of powercan an sr20det push safely on a daily basis? I know it's a broad question, but for the sake of argument, lets say this hypothetical car has no built internals. Just an sr20det with upgraded turbo (t3/t4 or comparable) and other BPU's.

What would be the safe approximate boost and power output YOU'D be comfortable pushing the car at 24/7/365 ?

I always take power output ratings in magazines with a grain of salt. You know any of those cars they feature with turbo's or blowers are upping the boost to max on 100+ octane gas for the "magazine "number. I'd just like to know what's good daily.

My Golf 1.8t on it's stock ko3 turbo ( if you've ever seen one, you'd laugh, it's the size of a large apple ) was ECU tuned to about 14-15psi peak and put out 190whp ( about 210-215 crank ) on 93 octane.

Anything can be safe depending on the tuning. A boost controller with two or more settings could also help out. Of course gas mileage and other things like tires, clutches and brake life would probably go down if you drive it harder than a stock SR.

I know somebody who drives his 350HP Silvia conversion daily. He has it tuned to the max with a 2835 turbo.

However, thats on race gas, not as powerful on pump gas.
