Target WOT AFR's are 11.5:1 to 12.5:1 with anything in the 12's yielding the most power. The key to safety is also having ignition retarded as boost increases.

Tnx. what do you think is the safe timing for 6-10 psi.

Wow...you pulled alot of timing.

In a perfect world with a standalone I'd pull .5 degree's for every lb starting at about 4 psi. Then adding a little back in after peak torque. Also making the fuel a little richer at peak torque and leaning it back out after the torque has passed.

For under 8 psi I'd just retard the base timing a little...like a small bump and call it good.

Do JWT/Enthalpy tunes work the timming in or is it still suggested to manually retard timing.

Emance/JWT/Enthalpy tunes all retard timing on boost.

Yep. Pretty much all ROM tunes are made to work at stock base timing. The timing is retarded by the tune itself.

I typically like to see mid to low 11's AFR. Sounds like it would be rich but it becomes safer being that pump gas is pretty inconsistent from place to place. Its not but a few HP difference in most cases between 11.5 and 12.0 AFR anyways. The real power comes from the Timing Maps.

You don't really need to worry about timing on low boost setups. Under 6 psi, you should be able to run stock timing with safe afr's. MSD is great if you are running a simple setup such as an SAFC or other piggyback setup. I would probably still run 19 degrees or so at 6psi though. The thought of detonation really bugs me from time to time.
