Alright guys heres the story. Today I am out driving my car, (just bought 92sr20det with mods) as I am driving, just cruising around then I feel the car stutter for a second. And then it went away....Strange

Later tonight, I am going to a Dallas Import meet, and I look at the S-AFCll readings, during exceleration, my AFL is at 100.00% WTF?!

I am pretty sure, that isnt a good thing, It has ran fine up until now, I dont know what changed. I havent messed with anything. And I dont know how to fix this problem. Im not sure if the mods on the car will help out the situation but the mods are as follows:

red top sr20det, t28BB, greddy FMIC, BlitzDD, S-AFCll, megan DP, megan full 3" exhaust, koyo radiator.

If you guys can help that would be really awesome. This is my daily driver, so I really need it on the road. I dont want detonation.

Alright guys here it is, I have been looking on here and looking, I have not found a single thread that helps out any, Im located in the Dallas TX area, It seems as if, anytime I get into boost my AFL shoots to 85-100% I dont think this is right. Then my car starts cutting/stuttering, almost like a fuel cut. This is a new problem that only started happening about a week or less ago, I have had this car for about 2mo now. Does anyone have any Ideas? Or live in the area?

::edit::

BTW I installed a new z32 maf, the one I had before, if you tapped it, it would make the car stutter. So we figured it might have been a bad MAF...we were wrong, problem is still there.

did you select the setting on the SAFC that tells it that you are using the z32 maf? it's been a while since i used mine, but i think i remember there being an option for that during setup.

I bought the car like this, As I am saying, The car ran fine up untill now, I have replaced the MAF, I am more or less looking for the best way to tune the Lo throtle and Hi throtle. What number percentage would be best to start with on both? and from there, should the percentage drop? or raise as the rpms raise? And if so how much do you think the number should increase or decrease?

I am really new to the safcll, and now I have to tune one, with no knowledge of tuning with this setup. Any input would be great

Hey,I have a safc2 as well. in order to properly tune it you need a wideband oxygen setup which is usually around 300 bucks i would go with zeitronix. The only thing you can really do without some type of acurate way to measure your air/fuel ratio is check and make sure you have the proper setting for your MAF (mass airflow sensor) If i were you for now i would leave the fuel settings alone since it was probably tuned at a shop using a external afr meter. If you dont have the manual for the safc it is easy to find online i think its available on their website if you ensure that the maf setting is correct and its still stuttering make sure all your vaccum lines are on correctly and there is no leaks. There are two lines that come from your intake manifold, the three main things that need vaccum source are the internal wastegate for your turbo(vaccum silenoid on the compressor side of turbo). The Blow off valve and the FPR and if you have a mechanical boost gauge that also has a vaccum source. ANY vacuum leak will make your car run horribly. another thing to check is your inner cooling piping/hoses/clamps make sure there are no holes in the connecting rubber hoses and that all the hoses are tight. Just make sure there is no way you have a intake leak that will also make it run bad. When you are sure that is not the problem it is probably the Safc settings . its a stock sr correct? i ran my sr with no tune for a long time with no hesitation or anything so you can save the settings that are currently on the safc and go back and initialize (reset)_ all the settings MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SETTINGS SAVED. i have had many idling/ stuttering problems and have always been able to solve it with this method,Good luck

Thank you for your response, I have actually printed out the Safc2 manual, and It really didnt help me much other then the z32 maf sensor setting. I tuned the afl myself, but the problem now, is Its only stuttering in 1st and second under 2k rpm. If I were to set the settings all at zero other than the decair and hotwire sensor, would I be running stock settings? Thanks for your help!!
